I tried this with Firefox and Vivaldi (Chromium based) on Artix (Arch Linux Variant), adblocker disabled. Antivirus - what is Anti-Virus?

All I get is a message to disable my disabled adblocker.

Use JDownloader2 (which I usually do) and there should be no issue.

Works fine for me using FF Quantum with uBlock off.

If there are any dots showing in the password field, make sure you remove them with the delete key before pasting in the actual password.

I tried Chrome and Firefox with every possible adblocker disabled and logged out of 1fichier, cleared the password field and entered the required password but it was a no go in both browsers. All it did was return to the first page again, asking for the password, with both browsers and my password manager asking if I wanted to update my own 1fichier password to 'forvef'. I then disabled the password managers, tried download without SSL, nothing worked. Very weird.

Got this in Chrome (and similar screen in FF too):


Then I tried Opera (with Opera's own adblock still enabled) and it worked just fine.

I'm guessing it's an unlucky combination of factors such as OS, computer and browser configuration, addons, ISP, location, etc. etc...

I dont know if this might be the issue but in the past i've had passwords rejected
if i didnt input them manually - this password didnt give me the cut & paste option
but i never assume it isnt available in other browsers.

In the past cut & pasted passwords have failed while the same manual ones have worked

I just tried the avi file pillo was after and got it to the - where do you want it saved to
using chrome with ad block - on pause - everything via script safe - allowed

The other alternative is what I did eons ago



Join our sister forum planetsuzy org and make use of their re-up to a friendlier host thread if you cant get 1fichier to co-operate

Its in their general discussion / sub-forum - File & Image Hosts
- top sticky - Up/download Host Requests



Assuming they have the same file somewhere on their site

I did try manually, it made no difference for me. In my case it's no big deal, I simply log in to 1fichier premium and voila. I was merely trying this out from free user point of view.

Still it's just strange the download works for one person but does not work for the other. Like I said, must be a combination of factors...

Slightly off topic: are the same links that are posted here also on there/other sites? Just recently I uploaded a 2GB movie to 1fichier and enabled my hotlink credits, it had 30+ downloads within 2 hours and only 2 people thanking me here, so I disabled hotlink credits again.

I'm not uploading for the 'thanks' (although it's nice to be appreciated), but also not uploading so other sites can share my links.

Just wondering.

Plenty of anecdotal comments by past uploaders over the years of their links & caps being
borrowed completely so some bloggers earning ad revenue have fresh content

The one that i cant forget was when VEF was down for 2 weeks

Those with premium accounts could still see their links still being downloaded
One had as many as 10 other sites using them

Its just the way of the modern world

Nothing short of putting vintage-erotica-forum over the caps
will stop it to a certain degree

Other forums take those down same day from what i've read

The backlash will be some collectors here wont want them

That's fucked up. I had a feeling those links ended up in other places but these folks must be online like 24/7 and copy/repost uploads almost immediately. A password won't help either because they will copy that too. Unless we have passwords in our signature? Guess that won't help much either. I hate the thought of greedy people making money with my and other VEF members' links and efforts.

But it's like you said: just the way of the modern world / catch 22

You know when I found how many download my file get (and as you said most of them not from here) the idea of using password went to my mind...

Something crazy like using the date I posted as the password... doable I guess with the signature telling something like "to know how my password works check my profile" and put a visitor message there who say "the password is the date a film was posted".

But I told to myself that it could confuse some people...

Edit: Not that I care if people get my files (it isn't like I did the films and own them), but I always feel that if a file is downloaded too often it could be suspicious for the files hoster.
