Lynda Carter herself shared the Entertainment Weekly article. It's the best confirmation we're gonna get from her for now.

And this is what's in the article FYI

Quote:
3. She was supposed to be in Apocalypse Now, and she still kind of is if you know where to look

Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now is one of the most acclaimed war movies ever made, and Carter originally had a part in it. Carter was cast as the Playboy Playmate “Miss May” in the film, but after production was delayed by a storm, her contract with Wonder Woman forced her to give up the role and actress Colleen Camp took her place. However, viewers still get a glimpse of Carter in the Redux version of the film that Coppola released in 2001. A Playboy centerfold shot for the movie while Carter was still on set appears in the lengthened version of the movie, and the photograph accounts for the actress’ only nude scene aside from the one she did in her very first movie, 1976’s Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw.
I'm 100% sure it's legit

1. The pics are clearly not the same. The claim could have fooled people back then but now It's clear there are many differences.

2. It's airbrushed only to the usual vintage Playboy extent. It's not a painted face and it would be clear if that was the case. And the body would be even more difficult to paint, so in that case it would be another model. I don't think someone would go to those lenghts to make a fake picture of her when the very fact that she was in the movie was not common knowledge.

3. It's not a collage either because there's no other picture of her like that, but it's clearly her.

4. Colleen Camp said Lynda did the centerfold.

5. It's confirmed she was in the movie and on the set of the scene with the soldiers.

6. It matches the scenes in Bobbie Jo perfectly.

If anyone needs more proof beyond that, only confirmation from her or Coppola would suffice.

I'd like to think it's Lynda, it seems plausible. But Lynda's most striking feature to me is her gorgeous blue eyes. And this picture is a woman with brown or hazel eyes.

In 9 years of discussion here, no one has ever said it wasn't Lynda's face.
Are you trying to say it isn't Lynda because of the eye color?
Eye color is one thing that is easily changed on a photo.

What is so unbelievable about the photo?
Just because she changed her career path with Wonder Woman doesn't mean she never had her breasts photographed.
She had just done a movie with at least 2 topless scenes.
Why is so hard to believe that she would show them again in her next movie?
Especially in an A+ production with an A+ director.
Any starlet would have been extremely motivated to do whatever Francis wanted.

There is proof Lynda was originally in the movie, and was in the Philippines with them.
She was cast as one of the playmates, and all three of the playmate roles had topless scenes in the movie, and all did centerfolds.
So she would have signed on to do a topless scene in the movie, and the centerfold, or she wouldn't have been there at all.
The playmate photos would have been one of the first things the girls did in the production.
Definitely before the location shooting, which they had started.
Then the monsoon struck and delayed the production.
Then she got the Wonder Woman part, and quit the movie.

We still have no solid reason to believe the photo is fake.

It certainly is not Lynda's face pasted on that Colleen Camp photo.

I still firmly believe it is Lynda. Face and body. Totally Lynda.

The eye color of people with blue eyes does change, to some extent, depending on lighting and what they are wearing. People have blue eyes because they have a low amount of melanin, which is a naturally occurring pigment. People with blue eyes basically have little to no eye color. I know that sounds weird considering you see an eye color. The reason they have blue eyes is because their eyes are absorbing and reflecting light in the say wavelengths that our atmosphere does. So the same reason that the sky is blue is why some people have blue eyes.

What all that means is, changing the color of clothing worn, the color of their surroundings, even the ambient light, can change just how blue someone's eyes can appear.

The picture has that brownish vintage look all around. Even the white of the eyes is kinda brownish. Her eyes are still very bright.

The same effect happens in this picture

Also, with Colleen's centerfold close in color tone and brightness to Lynda's centerfold, like in this pic, her blue eyes also look hazel.

If anything it's even more evidence that it's legit, IMO. Because if someone was to fake it, they would definitely make her eyes blue.

Wouldn't be the first time a photographer has drawn inspiration, or deliberately copied another shoot, for purely artistic reasons, or as part of a pre-planned subtle homage.

How many have copied just that classic 'Tennis Butt Shot' pose..?

Default There's no mystery here

Crikey! I canNOT believe this thread is still going. I debated this with the Fake Detective over 15 years ago, and can't believe it's so hard for people to understand.

First, you need to know the SOURCE of the Lynda Carter centrefold photo. It is NOT somehow captured from any film version of Apocalypse Now, but is a PUBLISHED photograph from around 1982. I think the magazine was called FLICKR. I bought it on a newsstand in Chicago. Flickr had no clue that they were in possession of a real Lynda Carter nude centrefold shot (or perhaps they were afraid of being sued?). Because they used the photo, together with Colleen Camp's photo, to illustrate an article on how, in the pre-digital age, it was possible for an artist, BY HAND, to repaint and fake a photo by substituting the head. The article, of course, failed to notice all the other discrepancies, as discussed in this thread. They had no clue that they actually were publishing two different centrefold photos of two gorgeous, but different, women. And when, a few years later, Playboy did a pictorial on Colleen Camp, Steven Chan discussed the fact that she had replaced Lynda Carter. I did not know that till then but had kept the magazine because I was a big Colleen Camp fan. (Still am, darling, if you're reading this). Then I checked the original print publication and saw all the discrepancies. And the mystery was solved. Both photos are published print photos: Colleen's is widely available in Playboy. Lynda's seems to be only available in digital copies taken from the originally published photograph.

It really isn't hard to understand.

Not only is it plausible, it is undisputed fact. We know the photographer, Steven Chan, who has discussed taking both photos in the edition of Playboy magazine that featured Colleen Camp.

No need for confirmation from either of them when the photographer, Steven Chen, has already written, in Playboy, about shooting both pictures. How much proof do people need?
