You may not know her face or her work... but you probably know her family or her husband... This girl's really name was Kelly Jean Van Dyke, the daughter of actor Jerry Van Dyke, who played the assistant coach on the ABC series "Coach". Her uncle was the great Dick Van Dyke! Her husband was Jack Nance, star of several David Lynch projects including "Twin Peaks", "Blue Velvet" and the title role in the cult film "Eraserhead"! I would love to see some of her porn work... anyone? |

Just wanted to post and give my respect and props to Jamie Gillis. There was no ego or air about him -- he was a great human being. Who the hell was I when I met him? I was fucking nobody, man. Some fanboy on vacation in NYC. Virtually a stranger, and yet Gillis not only treated me like a friend -- BUT AN EQUAL. Took me out for drinks, introduced me to his friends. The man was a prince.
I wasn't sure what to say for my very first post here, but I think an ode to Gillis is worthwhile. Hi everybody. |

Its so sad that her life took such a tragic turn toward drugs and related crime before she passed. I heard she had bad medical issues with related chronic pain that lead her toward heavier and more powerful pain killers addiction and finally overdose and death. Whatever the case, I just pry she is now in a better and pain free place - RIP my first playmate love. |

I have to say I have met quiet a few adult film stars and most were nice and some were very caring and then there is always the occasional a-hole..I worked in Atlanta Ga in the adult entertainment biz a met a different lifestyle that most take as a work of perversion. I on the other hand was amazed at the degree of talent and soul that some of these entertainers had...I will always be grateful for the experience to actually have met some of these brave souls and live my life watching these performers and have a great remorse for when they pass ...Judgment to those you have never met or never sit & learn from is true ignorance...
I hold the same respect for these people as i do any mainstream actor or actress(well maybe not all, LOL) .just my opinion.. |

Hey all-Happy Easter and good comments here. I also wonder about why women take up a porn career whether it be now or in the golden age. Today is much more of a liberal and open venue compared to 1980 and an expectation of being seen is more obvious today with tv channels and the web. Back in the day, the loops and films were in the theaters in town that had them, then the videocassette opened it up more if you rented them. I think the ladies in both generations have-had the possible delusion of stardom at some level-it seems too many (not all)lives led to a dismal path. I'm not judging, but am fascinated with the economic and even psychological reasons women do this and then, disappear. Clearly, not all have vanished, but it must be interesting to embrace the lifestyle and carry it with you (and the public to an increasing degree-the internet) as a one time pornstar settles in their 50s and beyond. I wonder how weighty or liberating it is for various "stars" after youth fades.
