Latest news: Radio 1 & 2 DJ Paul Gambaccini will not face action over alleged historical sex offences. He had been held since October of last year as part of the Metropolitan Police's Operation Yewtree investigation. A 75yr old man arrested on the same day will also face no further action-he is not named.

That often helps, though if it freezes, there might not be any error message.

They didn't hold him in prison on remand for a year without even charging him, I presume?

Quote comes directly from the Entertainment page on text 501 mate, so don't blame me if it's not 100% accurate

poor bloke !
another hasty midweek rewrite for him due to his paymasters practical jokes or big mouth.

This is what I noticed today

We went to a huge shopping mall today, saw this kid, called one of of his parents a "cunt", kid was about 14, this just outside a store that sells video games and consoles... I think the kid was pissed off his parents didn't get him what he wanted

I was thinking about that one the way home and then heard on the news about that girl, 15 winning the Nobel Peace prize that was shot in the head by the Taliban a few years back.

That's what I noticed this week, and if that kid was my son, he'd have noticed a fist in his mouth straight after saying the word "cunt"

Some years ago I was at the seaside, Ramsgate think it was. My then girlfriend , who was a bit of a snob, nudged me when a family sat down in front of us to eat their lunch.
One of the kids, who was probably about 8 or 9 didn't want to sit down, and I heard the man, who may or may not have been the boys father, I'll leave that up to the reader to decide, shout to the little boy in a horrible South London accent, "Fu*kin' sit dahn yer little cu*t or I'll fu*kin' belt ya"!

With a role model like that the poor kid's got no chance!

Or perhaps that should be, the poor little cu*t's got no fu*kin' chance!

Kids imitate, usually, their role models.

Bloody or bugger were the worst words that my parents ever said in front of me, and dad would have murdered me if I'd ever used them!

That doesn't excuse it, but in that light it might make it a bit more understandable.

If you saw the One Show last night(BBC1) you would have seen Chris Evans pretending to be a Thunderbird puppet for puppet read muppet! What a shambles that programme can be-Alex Jones acts like a total airhead at times and I would have been embarrassed had I been David Graham-voice of Parker(Thunderbirds) because they spent more time on Jamie no talent Callum, than him promoting the new film This Is Supermarionation. Sometimes the BBC can get it so wrong it is almost criminal. If you read the official Facebook pages for Gerry Anderson I am not the only one who thinks this.

Malala Yousufsai(or names to that effect) thoroughly deserved her shared Nobel Peace Prize. She is an extraordinary young girl with thankfully her whole life ahead of her in this country although perhaps one day she will be able to go back to Pakistan and see her friends.

One thing I've never noticed but I do if I get the chance, is to grab a load of sycamore ends-those with the small flat bud and wing and throw them up into the air watching them spiral helicopter-like down to the ground. Simple fun yet I've never seen any kids doing it and yet it was staple when I was young for fun. I wonder if parents should pass these small gems of their childhood to their children-the thought of no child ever experiencing playing conkers or collecting leaves as well as chucking sycamore buds in the air fills me with sadness-it would seem that we lived whilst most kids are proverbially dying prefering the great indoors to the great outdoors-and that is a shame. In the case of the helicoptering leaves you have to wait until they are brown-an unripened one won't spiral.

One thing I've noticed is that I had 15.684 posts and now I have 15,614-you're not starting that lark again?

Swearing was and is common place where I grew up, but only in the right context, but had I ever used the C word and directed it at either Mum or Dad... I'd have been black and blue all over and when then repeated the following week just to make sure I learned my lesson, never happened, But that's what would have happened.

That Pakistani girl that won the Novel prize, I just watched her do an interview, a repeat on CNN with Christiane Amanpour..... That kid is smarter than all of us here, combined
