How to improve VEF - Page 45

1. A comprehensive VEF users guide

Would be very useful if each section with its own pecularities
and interpretations of the forum rules were to do their own.

The way I see it is good advice gets buried on forums all too often under the weight of the
same topics being repeated ad nauseum.

While it would be nice to think everyone buying a PC for the first time at age 56 is going to
do a course and educate themselves.

I think we know the reality is they buy and surf and crash and burn
occasionally we pick up the pieces

The one thing that I want, which would probably have to be coded and become an option for all forums based off this particular design, would be to have the option to hide threads. Like if I open a thread for a porn star that I've never heard of, and then find out I'm not interested in her, I could hide the thread from view.

Theres an ignore person section in your user cp (control panel)
under settings options / ignore list - it makes all their posts into a line
that you need to click on to read

Could someone please put a Folder Control Box at the top of the New Subscribed Threads list? That would delete incoming thread notifications without blowing all your Subscriptions list.

Allow streaming URL to be posted- a very big hardcore movie database could be made.

Logically speaking if we introduced imagehost posting to replace filehost links so downloaders werent wasting bandwidth on content they didnt want

Wouldnt it make more sense to have full sets in their own section now we have the newly formed website section.

The models threads become a quicker loading index of small sample galleries & quotes

Those with bandwidth or speed issues can see it all and know whats available instead of playing - lets wait for these 500+ thumbs to load.

Its not such an issue with the classic sections but the modern would benefit i think

Just a thought

As far as I remember, that wasn't in the feature list of the old vbulletin 3 that is still in use here, so they'd have to install a hack - which, given the age of all of that software, would make the site even less secure than it must already be.

For info, both classic and modern magazine scan sections already require that all images in a file are posted to an imagehost and included in the post.

There is a separate subsection for complete magazines in the classic section, and a separate thread for the same in the modern section (as there are considerably fewer).
