I've already mentioned earlier on this forum (in a thread called Are you stuck in an era?) the 1980's will always be my my favorite period of my life.
However, the 1990's will come a close second though. Especially the early part of the decade. From a 'cultural' point of view (in terms of music, fashion, entertainment etc) I think the first part of the decade was probably the best in that sense, especially the years 1990-92. Between 1990-92 I was about 10-13 years old, and I remember it quite well. If it's music we're talking about about then the early 90's had such hits as: * Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Connor. * Vogue by Madonna. * Killer by Adamski. * Sadness by Enigma. * Ebeneezer Good by the Shaman. * Practically anything by KLF. * Everything I do I do for You by Bryan Adams. * I'm too Sexy by Right Said Fred. * Stay by Shakespeare's Sister. * Groove is in the Heart by De-licious. * Love Shack by the B-52's. The mid 90's (94-96) were almost has good (again in terms of pop-culture and social trends), but for me personally the 1990's in that regard ended in December 1997. I think the reason why I say this is because from the beginning of 1998 onwards society was gearing up to the millennium, and has soon has that occurred that was when we began to enter the 'modern age' has it were. |

I liked a lot of 90's music, meaning actual bands and not that electronic dance crap,
But of I had to pick one , it's this One Headlight - The Wallflowers

Crash Test Dummies - Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm The Connells - '74–'75 George Michael - I Can't Make You Love Me Simply Red - Stars Genesis - I Can't Dance Donna Lewis - I Love You Always Forever ... and pretty much everything by Michael Jackson. These were the songs that ran at the time I was growing up, a process still unfinished, so you'll have to forgive me. I still like some of those songs. A former girlfriend of mine used to say I'm a hopeless, sentimental romantic, no matter how much I try to hide it. She's probably right. Our women know us only too well. |
