http://sourceforge.net/projects/gqvi...w-win/2.1.4.1/ It seems like you just unzip the files into the directory of your choice and double-click the "gqview-win-2.1.4.1.exe" file when you want to run it. e.d. |

Somewhere on the net I spotted a picture of a pretty girl whose face was obscured. I wanted to find out who she is and if the picture came from a photo set. Using your tip, I discovered -- eventually -- that it was a photo of "Alexa," a teenage blonde model from FTV Girls. To be clear, tineye.com did NOT direct me to the FTV site, but it DID show me the same single pic posted in various places so I still had to spend time clicking around to determine the original source. Bottom line -- I'm sure I'll be using tineye again. Appreciate the tip. Last edited by yeastieboy; December 16th, 2010 at 10:58 PM.. Reason: Added Photos |

Tineye does indeed work. Here's an example of a find:
http://www.tineye.com/search/8b9f576...44e1fd355201a/ It hasn't helped me any further though.

Image similarities & duplicates software update
Here is a brief 'image similarities & duplicates' software research update:
Anti-Twin 1.8d (or 18d?) in Win Vista is useless for my purposes. I gave it only 12000 pics (about 4 GB) to check and after 11 hours it still hadn't finished its first run yet! ____ Also, I have tried all of the other programs that have been mentioned here that do not have new versions fully compatible with Vista. There is a lot of promise in them, but I have not been able to get them to run reliably in Vista. I'll keep looking as time permits, e.d. |

creating movie preview images
if you're unhappy with imagegrabber ii because it misses any batch functionality, may this free tool is the one to fall in love with: Scenegrabber.
http://anonym.to/http://www.scenegrabber.net/ download the latest version and the FFmpeg addon (if you don't have it). install and place the FFmpeg addon into the installation folder. When you start the program, enable FFmpeg in AddOns menu. batch processing works pretty easy, but before you use it on all your movies play a bit with the settings you can make to gain the desired layout. if you're familiar with settings and results of imagegrabber ii, you will be happy with that what scenegrabber offers. it's very similar and finally the processing speed is much better.

Duplicate Image checker ,, Best found IMO
This software is ANCIENT .. 2001 But I have been using FOR YEARS and IMO a rare find .. quick, allows you to DB as many images as you want [I'm sure there is a limit but I have not hit it yet] so next time you search the same images with added ones it is MUCH quicker .. Working fine with Vista .. Nag screen on startup .. No biggy .. Easy to use once you are familiar with it .. Can't say too many good things about it .. Will supply any configuration tips if you want to PM me .. Free .. Prolly discontinued updates but page is still active .. I don't recommend a lot of software but I could not do without this program .. I do have the install somewhere if you can't DL a copy
Highly recommended http://www.uniquefiler.com/

SSD upgrading
Got one yesterday - that was money well spent; no doubt in my mind about it.
Outstanding bootup times as well as starting up hungry apps such as Adobe Premiere Pro. Here it is; intel's a solid product now however I've decided to buy one with the speedy SandForce controller. Highly recommended. http://www.corsair.com/solid-state-d...0gb2-brkt.html |
