For me two actors that made the film their own, Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger in The Heat of the Night. One of my favourite films ever.

yeah, I'd have used Nicholson's role as Robert in 'Five Easy Pieces' or McMurphy in '... Cuckoo's Nest' as his defining roles above his role as Jessup... They were back when he acted rather than showboated... Those were the days!
Another actor? I guess Robert Shaw will be forever remembered (rightly or wrongly) as Quint from Jaws... |
