i have never looked at performance reports for av's as its not really that important to many of the people i have had to remove norton from (all home pc's) .... i have just removed a trail of mcaffi from a friends laptop as she likes avg and is used to it ... time to switch to something like avira or avast! maybe ? one thing i did notice those tests were run with the latest program versions and an optimised pc (home build no doubt) ... that, quite frankly is not the norm when it comes to home pc's from my expirence as even they elude to in the report. |

I also use Norton 360, I've just done a scan and it said it found and fixed 24 cookies, no mention of any virus. My pc knowledge is pretty limited, I can turn them on in the morning, work on them all day then turn them off at night. |

Norton...
Could it be that the manufacturers of antivirus software are also those who
make and spread new viruses. Imagevenue is a large picture host used by many. Ive noticed that Norton is using their warning pages to promote their own products. I use Avast for about 2 years now to protect my computer. It's for free, and the best i had till now...!!!

Many people believe (and I share the opinion) that the large commercial AV programs (like Snorton and Crapafee) deliberately generate false positives so their customers will be confident the program is working and buy the periodic upgrade$.

I just did another full scan of nearly 450,000 files it didn't find anything in quarantine or hidden-so I have no idea why it keeps coming up but to my mind it doesn't post any threat just nuisance value at the moment.

Is anyone else having trouble with Imagebam today?
Full-size images won't show when I click the thumbnail (which does appear) for images hosted at Imagebam. All I get is a blank space between the image banner and the rest of the page. Has anyone else had difficulty today?
Imagevenue and ********** are working all right, so I'm wondering if there's a problem on the Imagebam end.

Yes, I did see a message warning me that I was using an ad blocker (which I am: AdBlock Plus, and also NoScript), and telling me that if I didn't turn it off I might not be able to see any pictures. I think today is the first day this has happened, though. None of the other imagehosting services I've tested so far are doing this; I just checked radikal.ru and imagedoza, and theyr'e both OK. It's just ImageBam that's doing this.
EDIT: I went back again and checked my AdBlock Plus settings, and I've figured out the problem. This item was checked in the Adblock Plus preferences box (filters): imagebam.com##body > div[id][class] If you're having trouble seeing images hosted on ImageBam, try (if you're using Firefox and have AdBlock installed as a plugin) clicking the AdBlock icon at the top right corner of your Firefox window, selecting Preferences, going to the Filters list, and then scroll down to the item listed above and click the box next to it to de-select it. That should enable pictures to appear.
