Problem uploading my avatar

According to the rules as it states:

"In order to preserve the forum layout, our forum rules as from Saturday 25th February 2012 include a maximum thumbnail size limit of 180 x 180 on all posts in all forums, with no exceptions. We request that members follow this rule with immediate effect."

I tried to upload this avatar:

The above avatar is 180 x 180. After I tried to upload it I got this message:

"The Dimension limits for this filetype are 80 x 80. We were unable to resize your file so you will need to do so manually and upload it again. Your file is currently 180 x 180."

Why is there an double standard between the statements? Can the admin please make the avatar I tried to upload as my avatar? I would appreciate it and thank you.

I´m no Mod.or Adm,but I think I can explain this to you.

The maximum thumbnailsize of 180x180 apply to the pics you use when you make your posts in the various sections,provided you use pics in your posts that is.

To edit your avatar:Click UserCP,then Edit Avatar,and there you can see what maximum size you can use.Yours is 80x80,but that varies between what kind of member you are.Mine says this for example:Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 150 by 150 pixels or 20.0 KB (whichever is smaller).

I use Paint to edit my avatars,I find it easy to use,for me.There´s probably more tools you can use.

I hope this has helped to clarify a little bit.

The 180x180 image size standard applies to thumbnails used in forum posts only.

The avatar resize function here has some issues which have not been fixed as of now. I uploaded your original picture as your avatar as you requested.

I can upload the avatar, but it appears only at my profile page, but not at my posts.

It's 100x100 and 4,6 kb. restrictions for my avatar are 100 x100 and 10 kb, so it should fit.

Would be great, if anybody could help me.

Did you actually edit your Avatar or rather your Profile Picture ? Those are different.

I'm having a different problem. I tried uploading a new avatar & it shows in my profile, but not on my posts. Why is there a difference?

BTW, it's exactly 100x100 and while it took 2 attempts to upload, it shows in my profile. Thanks.

Your avatar has dimensions 120x180, your profile picture 100x100. Did you make the same mistake as deezer?
