I'm beginning to see one misleading piece of information after another about Salisbury and Syria carried by the media and I think these two events are linked. I cannot escape the feeling that we are watching some kind of planned operation to condition the Western public and push things to the brink with the Russians as Ronnie did, back in 1983, with a military exercise that almost led to a hot war. I know some of you on VEF won't agree with me and probably believe that Putin is to blame for everything. I'm certainly not a member of his fan club, nor am I a left-wing Corbyn fan who wants to see him in Downing Street. But we have people supposedly running our country who seem to be doing as they please, without answering to anyone. Trump continues to post bizarre messages on line - you might say what's new, and I genuinely believe that what's taking place is very wrong. It's like a madness seemed to have overtaken common sense.

If you see things differently then fair enough, but I think our leaders are playing very dangerous games, which nobody seems to appreciate or want to question.

I have thought ever since he started campaigning for President that there are far too many disturbing similarities between Donald Trump and Adolf Hitler. The same populist, nationalism appeals to the population, the same "I don't have to listen to anyone else and everything I do is by definition above reproach" attitude, the same chaotic way of running the government on whims. the same "we were once great and we're going to be great again as soon as we take down those who betrayed us" message. Provoking and winning a war feels like exactly the kind of thing Trump would like to do.

One of the tidbits from the book that just came out from the former FBI director is that Trump demands personal loyalty out of everyone he deals with in the government, above their oaths of office to the US Constitution. Reminds me of Hitler changing the German military's oath to one of personal fealty to himself.

Took my PC over to our friend and he said he will install Windows 7 and upgrade a load of programs and software AND add more memory and speed it up so I can finally stop having thoughts of throwing it out the window when it locks up for the eighth time in an hour. This should effectively last another two-three years unless Microsoft move the goalposts and stop support earlier than 2020. The cost will be around £360-good job I have saved a lot up over the years

The only rational follow-up to the attack is to bring any fighting-age men whose families were killed and homes destroyed into Europe, as it is obvious to our leaders that those men will have every reason to love us and our culture.
