Pixhost.org is now Pixhost.to (read thread) - Page 5

A further "wrinkle": if one quotes a post to the OP in the form of sending them a PM, then any pixhost links contained therein likewise can revert from .to to .org... quite logically, but somewhat annoyingly.

So, one wonders whether "dressing" the bbcode really is a good strategy, notwithstanding being well-intentioned and rather useful. That is: there could yet be other contexts in which we find it again goes missing/astray, whereas editing the bbcode markup stored in the db for relevant posts would solve those issues once & for all, regardless of various UI "context"/php function endpoints used. Ah! PHPriceless proceduralism.

I'm not very tech savvy but I can follow instructions (however my exes may say otherwise

). I've seen some Pixhost.org links on other forums. A few days ago I seem to remember changing the .org to .to and having it work on some pics. But on another forum it didn't work. Is there a fix or not for viewing the .org links? I am curious about seeing movie previews uploaded to a Pixhost.org link before I download a large file.

No, it is not fixed, pixhost.to is still offline. Pixhost.to states that they are working to resolve this.

But all content is available under pixhost.to.
VEF changes all pixhost.to links to pixhost.to. This is what I call a workaround. This does not work in all cases (single post view, private messages).

If you have a pixhost.to url that has not been changed automatically then open it and replace .org with .to. If that does not work, then the image is probably offline anyway.

I hope this clears things up a little.

Yes, it does, thanks. By images being "offline" do you mean temporarily, or permanently? Or too soon to tell? It's not a huge deal to me since I didn't upload anything there. But I know some forums with many posts hosted on pixhost.to. I'm curious if they are already deleted.

That I cannot say. Probably permanently.
There are many possible reasons for lost images
* They do not say anything about retention policy. It might be that they delete files that were not accessed for a specific time (90 days, 1 year, 2 years)
* It could be because of a dmca takedown
* Files can be lost due to human error (Hitting the wrong key, Assuming working in test environment while actually on production, ...)
* Hard disk failures
* many more

I've noticed over the last few days on other forums that some of the Pixhost.org hosted pictures that I assumed were lost DO still work again if you change them to the .to ending. I'm guessing some pics may be gone forever though. Thanks to all of the previous posters for explaining this.

Every poster who uses pixhost is displaying a completely blank post. No url, thumbs or anything. There are a lot of posts missing. If this is a problem others have having and know how to fix it I'd appreciate it.

Every pixhost .org post that hasnt automatically changed to pixhost .to
will be blank - i see a few imgbox posts around showing similar

You can right click quote open in new tab and change .org to .to for 1 pic , hit preview (add a . as your message and it should show - if the person created a gallery - click on pic
top right of image should give you access to all in the post

Any pixhost .to post that was changed automatically - if you try and single out by post number it reverts to .org and goes blank in my experience

I'm getting a bit concerned about pixhost.to right now. One of the advertisment "splash screens" that regularly pops up when viewing uploaded images is for a site called sss.xxx and some of images displayed look to be illegal or are, at best, sailing close to the wind on purpose. Unimpressed.
