As far as I'm aware, no-one has wanted to put sanctions on Iran just for doing military exercises.

They do want to sanction Iran for wanting nukes.

This despite seeing that Britain and the US (plus a few others), keep bombing, interfering with and invading countries that don't have nukes and thus are making every country want to have nukes so that Britain and the US (plus a few others) won't bomb, interfere with or invade them.

Went to another couple of concerts at the RAH this week. Two more next week including the Maryinsky Orchestra next Sunday.

I have to say the staff at the RAH are superb. I did notice sat in the stalls while at the CBSO concert with pocket dynamo Mirga-Tyla (quirky idiosyncratic intepretation of Beethoven 5) several audience members talking, others reading the programme and while Leila Josefwicz was handling her violin with aggression in the Stravinsky Violin Concerto some who disliked the work or were on the verge of sleep.

Soon woken up by Barry's Canada though. I think the most genuine of listeners from a wide range of countries including many children with their parents are those standing infront of the stage.

Emergency services have evacuated a beach in Sussex after a suspected chemical leak.

People on the beach at Birling Gap reported painful, stinging eyes and breathing difficulties after a "mist" appeared.

Sussex Police said there was an "unknown haze coming in from the sea" affecting the East Sussex coastline.

Surrounding roads have been closed and the public is being advised to avoid the area.

A police spokesman said the first report came in just before 17:00 BST where "up to 50 people had been affected by irritation to eyes and throats".

No they're not they are a priestocracy. The people may have the vote but the Mullahs select the candidates. No one who opposes the mullahs gets to stand.

NZ did-we had a long history of opposing French testing in the Pacific-we even sent naval vessels into the Muroroa test zone as a protest

In fact the F16s that New Zealand was offered by the US at an extraordinarily favourable unit cost around 1998 were originally ordered by Pakistan and were withdrawn from sale as part of those sanctions.
