9876543210 I found and downloaded Pale Moon for Windows XP and guess what...it crashed!! However I have narrowed down my problem to either the afore-mentioned WINAMP(yes I still have that although I also recently downloaded AIMP3) I will keep both Firefox and Pale Moon as back-up. Pale Moon is pretty slow especially on this forum, but then again I still don't think the problems here have been cleared completely.
I hope that they find the people that abused that black commuter yesterday in Paris and prosecute them and then throw them out of Chelsea Football Club OR better yet ban them for life from ALL grounds. That would send a message out to all would-be racists that this is not going to be tolerated.

"I think the aspect of this case that many people will find particularly alarming is just how quickly this teenager was radicalised and to what extent. It was only last April that he became a Muslim and yet four months later he was out on the streets armed and intending to kill someone in the name of his new religion. Officers from Prevent - the counter-radicalisation programme - spoke to him on three separate occasions. There was a real effort not to criminalise him but to help an obviously vulnerable teenager. But he just refused to engage them. One lesson is perhaps that no matter how fast you act, you may not be fast enough." Reading this passage made me feel extremely cold down my spine!

The machine that is having all the problems is the XP machine, correct? How long has it been since that machine has been reformatted and reinstalled? Hopefully, the problems your experiencing can be worked out fairly quickly. But there is something you should know. All operating systems eventually break down and need to be reinstalled. The reason is that every operating system is supposed to protect its own files from being overwritten or somehow modified. XP does a pretty good job of that but its not perfect. Any time the computer crashes there is a good potential that protected OS files could be damaged. Over time, and depending on how many times the machine has crashed, the machine becomes unstable and must be reset. Once it is it should work just like brand new. But now the current problem. Just for the heck of it, a couple of months ago, I tried to repartition, reformat and reinstall an XP machine. The install went fine as did the install of SP3. But thats where it ended. There are no more updates to be installed as MS no longer supports XP. So, the long and short of the story is, I had to reset that machine to a Linux distro (Ubuntu I think). Since many MS security updates were no longer available there was no sense putting XP on the machine as it was to be used on the web. So what that means for you is that machine may be at its end as an XP machine. But it could still be quite useful as a Linux box. But you would have to learn how to use Linux. Not all that hard really. The newer distros are really pretty darn good. Good luck. |

Islam is above all else a series of laws and rules supposedly delivered from the One True God and by the example of his "Messenger" and these radicals are just obeying those laws and rules. A rare and lengthy examination in the mainstream media of this problem in relation to IS/ISIS/ISIL/DAESH or whatever other euphemistic acronym we're supposed to call them by: What ISIS Really Wants - The Atlantic

Several times it has been fixed in nearly 10 years with all stuff saved and reinstalled OR downloaded and reinstalled again. I am pretty sure it is the machine but it still works and it seems that it can only handle ONE thing at a time now-so for example if I have an MP3 playing in the background the pattern is a) it freezes and then b) the browser crashes but without the MP3 playing sometimes it freezes too-this can be attributed to Firefox itself crashing and then all I do is restart it with all tabs open intact. I could do a factory refresh but I can't be bothered and it took a long time to reset this machine to my own specifications again and I don't want to do it again. I have my laptop with Windows 8.1 on it if necessary. I like this machine, it works better when not online but for the time being I will continue to use it because I like the keyboard and I can type faster as well. So did anyone watch last night's gripping Eastenders? Seems over 11m people did and apparently Twitter and Facebook went mental over who it was that killed Lucy Beale. I won't say it incase anyone hasn't seen it yet but the papers were full of it and even reported a poor Californian girl had received messages because people thought SHE was the person that had killed Lucy-she shared the same name as the killer-what a world we live in when something like that is actually taken seriously. I am reminded of Ernie Bishop in Coronation Street who was killed by a shotgun as he confronted robbers where he worked and people sent flowers for his funeral OR when Arthur Fowler lost the plot, stealing the Christmas club fund in Eastenders, smashing up the Christmas tree and decorations and finally ending up in a mental asylum; people sent him money to help pay off his debt!!! I must admit I was surprised at who did it but left in the dark by other threads left untied...still it was fun speculating.

Not quite so sure about the three East-London schoolgirls who have headed off for an adventure in Isisland. Unlike HMG, I'm not in the least bit concerned about their welfare and hope they never attempt to return to the UK. |

Sometime down the road the machine will become unusable. And, from your description, that will probably be sooner rather than later. If you have anything of inportance to you on it make sure you have it backed up because one of these days its going to go haywire. From my little experiment a few months ago I'd suggest putting XP on the machine is a waste of time (if the machine will be touching the internet). Start learning about Linux and how to use it. Probably start with Ubuntu. It has a lot of really good attributes: 1. Its FREE! No cost at all. 2. Its pretty simple to learn. You should have the basics in a day or two. 3. You can use a live CD. Download the app and create an .ISO of it on the CD. Once thats done you can stick the CD into a drive, reboot and start playing with it. Meanwhile keeping XP on your machine. Pretty nice way to learn an OS. If your machine doesn't have 4 Gb of RAM then you might want to try Mint. Its a derivative of Ubuntu that works better on machines that don't have much RAM. Good luck. |

I agree. It may sound callous but I too hope they go and stay there. I cannot think that when I was 15-16 I knew what I was doing and or had friends who would quickly point out where I was going wrong. Mystic danton predicts: All three girls will be cited as 'high achievers' in their studies and wanted to become doctors, lawyers etc. They will all turn out to have come from very pious homes with lovely pious parents who cared about them. I put it to you. From your knowledge of how 'pious' Moslems families protect their daughters how comes: The families do not know what they are intending? Did they pack? What luggage did they have at the airport? When and where did they acquire a U.K. passport? Who vouched for them? They buy airline tickets. One way? How? Cash or card payment. If cash where from? Card payment in whose name, where and when? Did anyone meet them in Turkey? Do any of these East London Bangladeshi's speak Turkish? How did they travel on to the border with Syria? Were they accompanied? How was this arranged? The questions pile up and no one seemingly asks them. Am I really supposed to care about these people given this organised lying? I do not. More I do not want them back. Ever. Last edited by danton; February 21st, 2015 at 01:23 AM.. Reason: spelling |

Phew: Greece to get loan extension
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-31556754
But the devil is always in the detail is it not? Quote:
Germany, on the other hand, wants to impose utterly unrealistic austerity measures indefinitely into the future, measures which have crucufied Greece's economy already and will absolutely guarantee permanent recession and never-ending government deficit, to be compensated by even more savage retrenchment, causing more shrinkage in the economy, even lower tax revenues, more deficits and more cuts. Chancellor Merkel is the Herbert Hoover of the 21st Century and the Greeks were right to elect Syriza and tell her "Enough!" Syriza is right to tell the EU that the existing deal on re-financing cannot be met. The same point should apply to Spain, Prortugal and Ireland, and this is part of why Germany doesn't want to listen. But these are bankrupt economies and governments and any arrangement which pretends that they can meet a repayment schedule is (pardon me) total fucking nonsense. I would propose an indefinite but permanent and structural long term debt. The first priority should be to achieve economic growth and tackle unemployment. If you want these countries to balance their government books, well, this can only be achieved via growth, not cuts in spending or chasing tax dodgers. Of course, all spending should be minutely double checked and tax evasion cracked down on extremely hard, especially in Greece where it is rampant. Europe should lend Greece money specificially to build and run prisons exclusively for tax evaders, or better still, build and run them directly, so that the Greek government can't steal the money. But the real issue is economic growth, and if Germany's plan is to make sure that Greece never ever sees economic growth again, then the existing bailout conditions are exactly how to achieve this. Greece would like Germany to be her sugar daddy; but Greece aint pretty enough and doesn't put out, so that's not happening. Germany wants to bleed Greece white until she gets all her money back. I think Germany is right to wamt every last Euro back plus interest, but she's totally going about it the wrong way. Greece has to prosper; then and only then will Greece be physically able to cough up the money. Germany should definitely work with the new Greek government on an economic growth strategy, but only on the basis that whenever Greece generates higher tax revenues and balances her books, and after minimum social measures which common decency demands, such as the restitution of pensions to a level which pensioners can physically live on; once Greece is at Level Two on Maslows hierarchy of needs, every penny of her growth generated surpluses belongs to Germany until the debt has been paid.
