Totally Amazon

As I await packages from Amazon at this moment, today, no shit: Time Bandits Blu Ray and a couple other movies)

One of my first thoughts! I don't think we are alone there!

From that sciencefiction .com article:

"To further fuel the rumor fire, a fansite called Outpost Skaro has alleged that there will only be five or six episodes in Season 12, ending in a Christmas special."

And I just learned in this latest episode that there are only 3 episodes left in this season. WTF? I was unaware that this was going to be another 10 episode season with a "Christmas" special in January, now the "New Year Special."

I think Who is about to be cancelled. You can't run a show like this its a disservice to fans. 10 episode seasons? 5 episode seasons? Ratings falling; the show can't go on like this.

My favourite Doctors fall in line with the stats in the poll, Tom Baker from the original run, David Tennant from the re-boot.

I've watched Dr Who since the Hartnell years, giving up only in the Sylvester McCoy years. I feel with Jodie Whittaker we're entering the re-boot's McCoy years and I suspect the fault isn't with Whittaker but with the PC show-runners.

Well, don't worry about missing the pretty girls sandhunter, very soon the show will become so PC that all the females will be wearing the full veil to make sure the show-runners don't appear 'islamophobic'.

Last Sunday's episode felt about as close to a "proper" Who story as we've had so far. Still no real sense of any real jeopardy for the main characters, though, but minimal PC preaching and a nice and rather dark little plot twist.

As everyone seems to agree that Kerblam was about Amazon it is quite funny that Amazon users who tried to stream that episode through Amazon instead skipped ahead and got this Sunday's episode The Witchfinders instead!

Creating a further problem for some users the closed captions were from Kerblam; "surely a jarring mistake for anyone trying to make sense of why conveyor belts have anything to do with the 17th century (Witchfinder's time period)."

I liked that episode it was a good twist on the usual hysteria that surrounded various areas of Britain back then. I thought Alan Cumming was a trifle effete as the King but had a comedic value as well as a sinister one. I was half expecting Vincent Price to turn up but Bradley Walsh just looked ridiculous in that hat. All in all it was at times quite scary(for kids anyway) but the special effects were good.

I had to look up what the hell effete meant because honestly I thought it was a synonym for effeminate which was my feeling on Alan Cumming's King, very effeminate. Though I also thought he was in the role; in the scenes as good actors are.

I was thinking as I watched I would like to see more one episode stars in Doctor Who.

I don't know much else that Cumming has been in except when he was on Saturday night Live and in the monologue he said he was considering doing a one man show entitled "Cumming on Cumming" a spoof on Liza Minnelli's "Minnelli on Minnelli". 18 years ago and I still remember that; very funny!
