Question for guys that have daughters

I've never had any kids of my own. I have been dating this woman for 18 months now and she has a daughter that is now 15. This girl is very pretty, long blonde hair, captain of the cheerleading squad, etc., etc.

When we are all out together at the mall or other places, I constantly find myself looking around at the boys, and anybody else, that is checking her out.

Have I just assumed some fatherly traits even though I'm not her real father? Do you guys with daughters, especially teenage ones, do the same things?

No not at all. You just hear these stories of kids being stalked and taken that I guess I find myself being a little bit over protective. Same goes for my girlfriend's 11 year old son.

The daughter has this pretty nice boy that has taken her to the last two proms but she doesn't call him her boyfriend or see him that much. I dont have a daughter but I have a goddaughter and I've watched her grow from a pea to a beautiful swan of a girl whose now going to college in a few weeks. I've had to take her shopping often or wait for her when my buddy or his wife couldn't pick her up from the mall or the movies and I was in the area. I've given the "evil eye" and even made a few warning comments to boys who seemed to be plotting a move on her and her friends and had that lecherous gleam in their stare that I recognize as having myself when I was their age and my lust was on high alert. For that reason and because I have nieces of a similar age now, I really can't fully enjoy any of the teen 18+ girl mags that are so popular now because she resembles some of them. At least not without some guilt.

I figure she'll get into her own "fun" and trouble soon enough. Just not while I'm around.

Perhaps, I am wrong, but I think an issue like this should not be discussed in a forum like this, means a forum that has the focus on porn topics. Too many people could get the thought that the actual purpose is to link to any not wanted "Lolita thoughts".
If the problem is actual respectable any parrents-problems-forums should be used instead of.
