But, for example, there are just 3 photos of Lynda wearing bikini. Where are the others??
It was another times, and, obviously, all depends of the photographer... About Stephen Chan: http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/1957...od_reused.html |

What serio02 quoted is in the comments section at the link. But it's not a comment by Stephen Chan so...

Who the hell is Stephen Chan anyway? Mario Cassilli took the photo of Colleen Camp.

The data come from here, from a senior member of this forum. Donīt ask to me the certainty about that.
http://www.vintage-erotica-forum.com...7&postcount=18 But I think, that they are talking about "David Chan". Last edited by serio02; August 13th, 2010 at 02:17 AM.. |

Well...they're wrong.
Mario Cassilli was definitely the photographer as my link above, and the Oct 79 Playboy verify. |

I've found some rather exciting new evidence ... but first a recap is necessary.
In Apocalypse Now, three playmates appear in a scene in which they arrive at an outpost in Vietnam, debark from a helicopter and do a sexy dance for the troops. When the troops invade the stage, the playmates make a quick retreat with a couple of soldiers hanging onto the chopper as it ascends. The playmates, and the actresses/models who played them are: Miss May 'Terri Teray' (Colleen Camp), Miss August 'Sandra Beatty' (Linda Carpenter) Playmate of the Year 'Carrie Foster' (Cyndi Wood) Extra scenes with the playmates were also shot but cut from the movie. These appear in Apocalypse Now Reduxe and show two of the Playmates, Miss May (Colleen Camp) and Playmate of the Year (Cyndi Wood) marooned in the jungle after their helicopter has crashed. They agree to 'spend time' with some of the troops in return for fuel. All three actresses appear in the initial USO dance scene. Colleen Camp and Cynthia Wood then return for extra extended scenes. There is no mention of what has happened to Linda Carpenter's character. Why then was Linda Carpenter not present in these scenes and what was she doing while they were being shot? The answer, as I've mentioned before, is that she returned to America to shoot an episode of Wonder Woman called 'Beauty on Parade' in which she appeared as a character called 'Betsy'. Now originally, I thought that this was pretty conclusive proof that the 'Linda Carter' Colleen Camp was referring to in her Playboy article was actually 'Linda Carpenter' and that it was just a misprint. The photo of Lynda Carter, I thought, was therefore likely faked by someone who had read this article and was trying to make a quick buck. However, there is another possibility... In the The Apocalypse Now Book by Peter Cowie, he claims that the original three actresses were "real life playmates" Linda Carpenter, Linda Hoflich and Cyndi Wood and that Colleen Camp replaced Cyndi Wood. As gregk1967 points out, this is incorrect as Cyndi Wood remained in in the film (in both scenes). Colleen must therefore have replaced Linda Hoflich. However Linda Hoflich doesn't exist. There is no playmate called Linda Hoflich. There is no actress called Linda Hoflich. There is no person called Linda Hoflich. Colleen, then, did replace someone in the role of Miss May. But it wan't Linda Carpenter or Cyndi Wood (both of whom remain in the film) and Linda Hoflich doesn't exist. In the Playboy article Colleen claims that she replaced Linda Carter. I have also found this: the diary entries of one of the band members of Flash Cadillac who appear in the movie playing music for the USO show scene with the Playboy bunnies. The relevant sections are: Wednesday, May 19, 1976 6:00 A.M. to 7:00 A.M. Wake up. No small task! It's time to go to the production office for rehearsal. Meet this person and that person. Meet Doug, head-head and procurer of everything. Meet Linda Carter (Wonder Woman-to-be), Linda Carpenter (Playmate of the Month) and Cindy Wood (Playmate of the Year). Very good! These are the girls who will dance in front of us in our scene. Sun. May 23. Holiday! Oh boy. The weather's too bad to do any work anyway. So, let’s party! Have been enjoying talking to Bill Graham, the promoter, he’s a real interesting man. Linda Carpenter is really nice and Linda Carter has her moments. Rather annoyingly, Like Colleen Camp he refers to 'Linda Carter' instead of Lynda. According to Wikipedia however, Lynda was christened 'Linda Carter' so she may have changed the spelling of her name some time in the 80s. It seems possible then, if not likely, that Lynda Carter was originally cast in Apocalypse Now (I'd hesitate to say definite though as I don't know how reliable this document is). What then, of that small matter of Linda Carpenter appearing in an episode of Wonder Woman? Surely that is too much of a coincidence? Possibly, but consider this. Lynda Carter goes to the Philippines to shoot Apocalypse Now. The Typhoon strikes and they are stuck in the jungle for weeks waiting for the weather to clear up. During that time, Lynda would be living, eating and bitching with Linda Carpenter. She then has to return to the US to shoot Wonder Woman and is replaced in the movie by Colleen Camp. Is it not possible that she might then get her new best bud Linda Carpenter a small role in the show? Linda Carpenter would then also return to the US, which would explain her mysterious and unexplained absence from the later scenes. Mostly supposition and guesswork but plauable don't you think? More to follow... |
