^^ I think I read that Anderson, on behalf of the senior players, made some suggestions to the Lions that their behaviour was not in keeping to the expected standards of a touring party.
But Why-de-Feck were both these parties in the same bar as the Bairstow incident. Surely Perth has more than one bar and, frankly, neither team should have be there. Maybe it is a side effect of Australian Beer/Lager. Wonderful memories of that Paul Hogan ad from the years gone by and that classic pun on 'Cockfosters' (The ad is on Youtube so you better check it out ) |

I've been listening to ex-England bowler Darren Gough's take on the Ben Duckett incident. Goughie knows him, and says he can take things a bit far, but is a good cricketer. That's good enough for me..I retract my comments from an earlier post regards ben's ability..

Really good effort from England on Day 1 at the WACA. Looking shaky at 4/131, Malan and a promoted Bairstow have put together a yet unbroken 174-run partnership.
If they kick on tomorrow, then a loss becomes very unlikely and a win a good possibility, depending on how the pitch deteriorates. Starc wasn't at his best but bowled some good deliveries picking up 2 wickets, Hazelwood had some good patches, Cummins solid, Lyon ineffective so far. The smart thing about promoting Bairstow is that it could free up Moeen's mind with a good total allowing him some mental freedom to hit out when his turn comes. Good for cricket that England have turned up for this match after 2 bad losses and a whole lot of bad PR so far. Australia's bowlers need to turn it on early on Day 2 to get back in the match. Cook and Root still not delivering, more pressure now on Cook after only 7 runs yesterday. Stoneman unlucky with DRS. |

WACA stats
England wont want to get too comfortable with where they are
WA made 7/514 (Bancroft 228 not out) and they lost the game by 5 wickets Average innings 1st or 2nd - 400 runs Only team to actually take 20 wickets in a 4 day Sheffield Shield game in 2017 New South Wales with the current Australia bowling line-up Chasing a total in the 4th innings hasnt been an issue SA chased down 325 with 5 wickets to spare A batsmens paradise if you can deal with the short stuff edit Record 5th wicket partnership followed by usual bottom half collapse 3rd Test, England tour of Australia and New Zealand at Perth, Dec 14-18 2017 England 403 * (115.1 ov) Australia 203/3 * (62 ov) http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/1...and-nz-2017-18 Last edited by buttsie; December 16th, 2017 at 12:59 AM.. nice to see us making a fight of it, perhaps we should come home now to save ourselves any further embarrassment.
Smith and Marsh have completely blunted England's bowling attack, as Australia look to build an unassailable lead and probably go 3-0 up in the series. |

It's a stain on the record of England's bowling attack, particularly Anderson and Broad, that they let Mitch Marsh score 175 and counting so far.

Am I the only one who woke up today expecting to see England batting again ?
But then I also believe in Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy |

Watching the end of the C9 coverage with Pietersen on. I have a query. Was Graham Thorpe dropped for Pietersen for the 05 Ashes?
I always thought it was for Bell. |
