"Shut your marf, you're nicked!!" Oh yes, well you obviously never saw the two films then, they were more violent and I think being a AA at the time there was some swearing in it but nothing compared to what they get away with today. Ray Winstone was in an episode of it being a young tearaway what shoots an off-duty copper-nasty!!! so he should be good as Regan. Not sure about Plan B(Ben whatsit) a singer as an actor? Only time will tell.

Btw, how did the guys get ambushed? Were they really sent on a patrol without a working radio?
The aerial broke on the satellite radio and the Bowman has restricted cover. The platoon officer was struck when standing in a doorway of a compound trying to make contact with air assets having crossed a road in full view of the enemy. The initial assessment of his condition was incorrect. Then the incorrect messages were being sent back and forth delaying the evacuation. The patrol had to pick themselves up and get back to the base compound with the casualty carried by two soldiers on their own backs up a ditch and across ground being shot over by the enemy. At first the wrong type of helicopter was sent to collect him.

No other soldiers were seriously hurt. One soldier (Welsh Guards) said had things been the other way around the Taliban would never have made it out of the ditch. Subsequently the district was cleared of the Taliban.

The B.B.C.'s "Our War" has been gripping viewing but gives a defeatist view of operations. Partly this is the M.o.D's doing; the scale of the casualties inflicted on the enemy are rarely if ever fully reported for fear of rousing public disgust and British domiciled Moslems to anger.

I think she is too dirty and winding me up. Constant texts about sex. I'm not a texter or facebooker. So I told her to telephone me. "I want you etc" well i'll call round. I've to be in work at 6.30am. (well fuck off and stop annoying me then) I never said that but I should have.

She's married, dosent give a shit. Well that's her choice says evil BB. I don't care because she is an adult and needs to look after her own affairs. If I was married with kids she wouldn't blink an eye.

Is she Norwegian, Billy? Perhaps from Rogaland or Egersund?

Hiya folks. Had my glucose tolerance test this morning. Didn't get off to a good start, the taxi my Dad booked for today hadn't been put into the computer on Saturday, so we had to ring up and book another-we only just made it on time thanks to a neat bit of driving by this Chinese bloke who was very critical of the 'idiots' that work at the place. I went in and this very nice nurse(Nigerian or Ghanaian) took my first set of blood-hardly felt a thing and this was without using a butterfly needle. She also took a small prick of blood to test then gave me this god-awful sugary drink. I can only liken it to warm undiluted barley water or lemon squash-my breath smelt awful for hours. I sat waiting for two hours. I took a crossword which I did, then a codeword and then sat through 3 episodes of Planet Earth on a DVD being shown. Finally before 12 I went back for the second blood sample and I felt it more but it wasn't too bad. Have to ring up Doctor's next week to find out...fingers crossed it's not diabetes but IF it is, well I will have to change my whole lifestyle I suppose. Will keep you posted.

WOW!! To use the in-phrase at the moment the London 2012 parade for Olympics/Paralympics GB Team was 'AMAZING!' So many people turned out to see them and it was quite a good afternoon-even my Dad liked the Pet Shop Boys and that is quite an achievement for a man brought up more on Frank Sinatra and the like. I actually laughed at Boris Johnson, it was a good speech but I still think he's a posh oaf. The Red Arrows did there bit and I just missed them thundering over this way and all I saw was a red, white and blue vapour trail but you couldn't miss the noise. Sad it is all over after so long waiting but it was nothing short of a triumph for this country.

Is it me, or did anyone else think that the Paralympic Ending Ceremony was better the the Olympic Ending ceremony?

Being a fan of Coldplay I thought it was very good, if a little overlong, a bit bonkers in places, but then that is what makes us British, eccentricity & invention a la Heath-Robinson-type vehicles. I liked both but I wondered in an all British celebration what the hell was Rhiannon and Jay-Z doing there-didn't we have any British singers who could have done the same thing?

My thanks to Sir Spender-He just told me that Rhiannon is British-so it shows how much I know about her
