I think this is how it went.
Around 2002, somebody arrived on one of my World-Wide Web pages from what turned out to be the William Girdler B-movie forum. (He was a director of movies like "Abby", "Three On A Meathook", and "Grizzly".)
The webmistress was Patty Breen. She was really interested in Wm. Girdler. The high point for her took place in the real world when Louisville {or was it Lexington?}, KY. had a Wm. Girdler film revival weekend.
I registered in that forum. Patty became less involved with her own forum; but the mantle was picked up (more or less) by a handful of guys known as "Brains On Film". I think they had a cable access show in Lexington, KY. - until one episode was so controversial that they were kicked off it.
One of the guys in that bunch, who is still active out here, mostly posting photographs taken with one of the antique cameras he has obtained, is Larry Treadway, a/k/a "Tread".
I shifted over to the Brain Board. This was a span when you could find pretty good free porn sampler sets, in either pictures or movies, for downloading. I had[|have] a valid copy of Teleport Pro, an automatic image downloading program. On a v.92 modem, this program was critically important at harvesting porn imagery.
The Brain Board was very tolerant of members posting nudity. Although we did have one jaw-dropping episode when the board went off-line for a few days because somebody (not me) referred in a picture from "Bat Pussy" [An 'OMG, this was released?', hardcore movie.].
The main part of the BOF W-WW site was a movie review section. Its advantage was that anything and everything could be reviewed. This was in stark contrast to that of a presumably more prestigious movie review site called.. (Mobius?)
A key point for the Brains Board was when we had a genuine assemblage of Board participants at Cinema Wasteland in April 2003. We even had Jerry, from the Netherlands, fly over for it.
On an affiliated front; I had discovered the Live Journal weblogging service. On one of the erotically-oriented groups, I hooked up with Robin Bougie. In one entry, Robin griped he had been suspended from Mobius for asking about a certain hardcore movie.
I sent Robin an E-Mail telling him to quit hanging around with the stuffed shirts @ Mobius, and register for the Brains on Film board, where he would have a more appreciative audience.
Robin registered for the Brains Board.
I was publishing a soccer zine back then, and getting copies of zine review zines here at the domicile. Robin was putting out more issues of his manga zines ("Cinema Sewer", et alia) than he does now. It generally happened that both of our zines would be reviewed in the same publication. Onto the Brains Board, I would reproduce the reviews. My reviews were mostly neutral. Robin's reviews would be more puzzling. It seemed the reviewers who wound up with his zines were accepting of the artwork, but trenchant of the subject matter covered.
But somewhat soon, the Brains Board faded in popularity (one of the people who had been in Cleveland that specific weekend, with whom I bonded about craftbeer, Peter Vachon, died).
The vestige of who and what had been present at the Brains Board seemed to float over to RomanyX's Cypress Lawn Country Club, but it is nowhere near the level of either the old Wm. Girdler or Brains on Film boards.
After my mom died, I felt it was safer to admit publically to having an interest in, and substantial knowledge about, porn and erotica. Browsing around for where on the W-WW the most knowledgable people were discussing this, two fora finally peaked:

2. the Vintage Erotica Forum

There is a lot of good stuff here. As more old vintage porn movies are referred here, I'll dig out my written synopses of them if and when I showed them @ the Twisted Spoke restaurant from 1998-2008, and link to them. I do appreciate all of our movie, video, & loop providers. I am still learning things, which is always good.
Now, if it was just possible for there to be a VEF assemblage at a movie exposition {hint, hint ~ scroll up}. That would probably be epochal.

April 2012 was when I joined VEF. I had been searching for images of lingerie and softcore models already, when I used Google and found the URL of this forum. I chose to join almost immediately, and was literally blown away by all of the past, present, and future content I discovered, and that I am still discovering.

In the three years since April 2012, cyberporn and heavy metal have re-programmed my mind to be more heroic, have better alpha male qualities, to endlessly strategize about women, and to get my body back in shape. VEF is a great forum with a half million members, to look at girls and talk about guy stuff for hours at a time.

Here's to 1000 more years of VEF, and our action with the girls who appear on VEF!
