Imagehost Problems, Imagebam, Imagevenue, PimpAndHost, PixHost, ImgBox etc - Page 242

I would just like to report some good news (for a change) in case some have not yet noticed.

The images/posts which I re-upped with Hotflick during the Ibam/Ibox crisis and which did a "disappearing act" and I thought would be forever lost have reappeared.

It would seem that Hotflick addressed and corrected the issue, which I was told may have been an incompatible server with Firefox.
I'm hoping that all of you who also used Hotflick during the re-upping frenzy are also seeing your "hidden" images/posts return.

Something seems to be up with Imgbox. When I click on a picture associated with them I get '502 Bad Gateway'.

Lots of my images here and elsewhere have disappeared, I'm waiting a week or so to see if they reappear before starting to rehost [ SIGH ]

Something I've just noticed about imagebam: open a large image from that host site in one's browser & one's mouse/pointer shows a magnifying glass symbol with a + sign, indicating one can click the mouse once to zoom in. Except that that seemingly no longer works any more.

Imagebam seems now to only show images in full, not allowing one to zoom in.

... or is that just me?

No, I've just tried a different host (pixxxels) & zoom-in still works there, so I don't think it's me/my browser, I think imagebam has changed.

I cannot reproduce that, still works fine for me (as long as the image loads at all, that is

).

Or maybe it's a browser extension. Adblock Plus is notorious for causing subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) breakage by blocking necessary scripts.

I get the same thing now, enlarging the images is no longer possible. It's not an issue with single images because they are usually large enough - when the piece of shit host actually displays them and it seldom does now

However, when it's a a sheet of scenes from a film it's much more vexing because it makes it hard to see what the scenes really are.

I believe retroanalyst is correct and it is either Adblock or NoScript doing it, at least in my case. I've had to zap several hosts with NoScript blocks recently to prevent their shitty popups and unwanted links opening.

If I was interested in LiveJasmin, Bored Housewives In Your Area or such crap I'd go there of my own accord, I don't appreciate browser hijacks sending me there.

As I said, though, not so much an issue with Imagebam, as there is usually nothing loading anyway anymore.

After having to take some time away I was happy to see Image Bam still online...until I clicked on it and got a "your computer has been blocked/locked" message. It seems what was the best image host IMO is now just another virus waiting to attack.

So,posts made with imagebampics between March 31 up to May 11 is still not available.
I don´t think that they ever will be,but it seem that we´re still hoping for the people at imagebam to solve this issue.

If there´s someone with connections in the ib-org. that can get any kind of answer to this issue,it would be great,since there´s a lot of affected posts in the forum,and many of the members that made the posts´re not aware of this particular situation.

Since this have been going on for a long time now,and imagebam is more or less up and running,maybe it´s time to face this issue properly.

I leave it in the capable hands of the admin/mod.

If ib can not solve it,I would suggest that a message is posted to alert all members across our fine forum.

Not for me, it's not. I went into today's MILF and Mature page and the best I could get was a thumbnail sized image, downloaded from a gallery using the "Save image" right click from the browser.

Clicking the image from the VEF page will not load the image on IB. I just get "Loading" and the spinning wheel on the browser tab. Then the spinning wheel stops and the IB page just has "Loading" in the middle of it.

Disabling NoScript makes no difference. Exactly the same as the step above, spinning wheel and "Loading" but doesn't load.

Disabling AdblockPlus resulted in one of those shitty LiveJasmin popups, but still no image after closing that. Same shit, "Loading" but no load.

I was able to get a gallery view of the post within IB but that didn't help either. Clicking a single image as a "Save as" resulted in a thumbnail size download.

Trying to use ImageHostGrabber, it can "see" the images and is listing them for download but is not able to grab them. Ditto trying to use IHG from the VEF page. As far as I am aware, I'm using the latest host files for IHG and it works fine with other hosts. For example, from the same VEF page this post http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...ostcount=24304 absolutely flew through the downloads with IHG.

Frustratingly, a few weeks ago, IB seemed to have resolved its issues, I could load images and IHG was working fine. Now it's all gone to shit again.

While imagebam still has some problems, the situation has definitely improved. At least from my point of view...

I did some statistics on my downloads:

The first plot shows the success rate of my download by date of post. During the bad times the rate is low but it is now again near 100%, with some exceptions.

The second plot shows the total number of imagebam links used in posts versus the number of successfully downloaded. The lines overlap again during the last months. It also seems that imagebam is not used so much anymore (comparing the last month to the beginning of the year.

The data is taken from the threads I back up, only a small subset of VEF. But it should be a representative sample.
