He needs to stay retired IMO

Tom Brady ‘not opposed’ to late-season return to NFL

Tom Brady isn't ruling back another comeback.

Brady, 46, said on a podcast appearance Thursday that he would consider joining an NFL team midseason if a starting quarterback goes down with injury, as Joe Flacco did with the Cleveland Browns last year.

Without prompting, Brady mentioned two teams by name -- the New England Patriots, his old team, and the Las Vegas Raiders, whom he is aiming to become a minority owner. He pointed out an NBA analog, as Michael Jordan became a part owner of the Washington Wizards before coming out of retirement to play for Washington for two seasons.

Thanks for the above post JO. As a sufferer of Raideritis any hope is better than none. Starting with a qb with a two game suspension, remembering a 12-4 season then losing two qb's at the start of the playoffs it gives me heart. Brady in silver and black would give fans hope and he would still be loved if he couldnt throw a fuck into a crackwhore.
My only reservation is among the deleted/missing posts replying to FD. Bring in large beef to protect the QB. His speed of release, though legendarily fast was not fast enough to stop OSI who decked him consistently and got two SB rings for it. Without massive protection his season will end within him touching the ball three times. Just sayin.

In the Football thread, the poster 96Cav was referring to how crap the American sports leagues are, compared to European football because they don't have promotion/relegation, being one of the reasons. Teams in American sports can tank for better draft picks with no genuine consequence.

I thought about the Golden State Warriors in my very long arms-length following of the NBA. They win 4/5 championships, being the finalist in the year they missed. Then you find out they they were really shit one year, bottom of the league. Then they won the championship again in the last couple of years.

Motorboater.....the poster you are referencing is incorrect on that opinion.

drafting # 1 thru # 10 overall even for multiple seasons is no guarantee of success. as a Bengal fan I know this all too well. here is a small sample of the top picks we had BEFORE Carson Palmer then Andy Dalton at QB to say nothing of having the best in Joe Burrow.

Akili Smith, David Klingler-both busts. RB Kijan Carter-blew out his knee in a preseason game in Detorit.

NBA...same thing. in the 1984 draft...the horrid Houston Rockets DID strike gold drafing Hakeen Olajuwom. the hapless Portland Trailblazers were next and, already having Clyde the Glide Drexler felt another guard was a waste of a pick and...needing a center...drafted Sam Bowie a 7 footer from Kentucky who had injuries and was a bust anyway. the Chicago Bulls picked at # 3 said THANK YOU Portland ! and selected Michael Jordan.

in baseball, it is such a crap shoot that no one even mentions top picks unless they become productive.

speaking of baseball.....there should be contraction....too many crappy teams...and there ARE teams that simply do not spend ANY money on their players nor on minor league teams to help them develop players. everyone screams about a salary cap-there needs to be a salary FLOOR. welathy teams like the Dodgers, Yankees, and Red Sox among other teams share revenues with all teams and the lesser teams, if those wealthy teams incur a luxury tax, actually get even MORE money and there are NO conditions tied to said money. it was generally expected that if a terrible team got a bonus check it would go to player development. not always, some of these owners simply pocket the money. and their teams remain awful for years.

and where would NFL/NBA teams be relegated TO ? college ? US college sports are essentially semi pro now but every year, whether its UCONN men's basketball or LSU college football, a discussion breaks out "if a college team could beat a pro team." the an idiotic premise as there is NO CHANCE that would ever happen.
