keep getting ad for this virus. have not installed this adware but it interfers with another site I visit and will cause said site to close even though I cancel the ad. has this virus got a start on my machine that I cannot find or is it coming from the site. site is porn***. is the only place I see this and only if I pick something to watch. any help either in finding it and removing or how to block it?

tried that
only relevant search result was ad for spyhunter. an avg type software and it does not remove it just tells you how if you buy it. did search of my hd for that name or equivalent, no luck. thanks for suggestion though. although it is listed as a virus spreading adware that is unwanted. if you found this by using google, could you tell me what search terms you used? I had no luck using multiple efforts and spellings.

Make sure your software is up to date - windows updates etc
Personal Software Inspector (PSI) is a good one for updating/removing insecure or obsolete programs all at once that can give infections a foothold onto your computer - browser plugins like adobe flash the best example Disabling the ones you dont need always a good idea when your on streaming tube sites as they are malware heaven in my experience and pro industry sites like P HuB love nothing more than spamming you with all manner of pop-under crap. Personally i'd stay away from them and use nudevista to find alternatives Best Free Software Update Monitor http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...te-monitor.htm How to Harden Your Browser Against Malware and Privacy Concerns Goes through the 4 main browser types advising which add-ons might help http://www.techsupportalert.com/cont...y-concerns.htm Controlling pop-ups / unders which are usually 3rd party Ads .00001% are malicious the rest are just annoying site spam. You have 2 choices - mentioned in link above Ad-blockers like ad-block plus , u block origin etc - stops most ads - some of which are malicious downside - doesnt stop everything and is known to interefere with sites plugins. Script - blockers like No Script (firefox) - stops all scripts good and bad - you allow the website address & for streaming sites probably adobe flash ...maybe an IP address for some videos - can take a bit of trial and error to get some sites working For checking for malware Malwarebytes is still the easiest go to tool Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free https://www.techsupportalert.com/con...are-free.htm-0 For quicker browser / system cleaners / removal of toolbars etc adw cleaner , Junkware removal tool , (both now owned by malwarebytes) For active malware Rkill (kills running processes temporarily so you can run your anti-malware programs) Rogue killer (by adlice) scans deeply - a good 2nd opinion to malwarebytes Last edited by buttsie; August 23rd, 2017 at 10:21 PM..
