These people chose the path of self-destruction, and places in hospitals need respectable citizens. Last December, I saw an ambulance doctor persuade a freezing homeless person to go to the hospital, and he refused. But this time someone really needs help, but the ambulance is forced to spend time with people who deliberately kill themselves.
Here in the States, it is believed that nearly all of the alcoholics who die of ailments and accidents caused by their disease have spent time in Alcoholics Anonymous and gone through a medically based treatment program. Most have been through several courses of treatment. The fact is that most alcoholics and addicts will continue on their path until they die. Fortunately, in the United States only 7 to 8% of the population fall into this group. But they are a nuisance.

The tragedy is many are brilliant people before their addictions overwhelm them.

Our governor got visited by a homeless man. I am surprised his security didn't catch him, even if the governor wasn't home.

This article reflects what happens when your city becomes known for providing 40K per homeless person per year.

Oh don't click on anything hosted on SFGATE.

It's one of the many news websites that takes forever to load because it's putting 100s of g00. cookies and spyware on your computer while it's loading.

Other sites like it are Newsweek and San Diego Tribune and MSN news and many others, most of them news websites including several major prominent ones.

Don't believe me?

Click on that link and look at the bottom left corner of your browser (I am using Chrome) and see all that stuff that's loading while the content of the webpage itself is just stuck hanging.

Still don't believe me?

Google g00 cookies or g00 exploits or g00 adware or g00 redirect.

Here in Oakland, at least, the city is breaking ground on 8 new affordable housing projects. In talking to my councilwoman's staffers, a radical idea has emerged: let's replace the single occupancy hotels we tore down. Yes, they were cesspools of alcoholism, drugs, and prostitution, but it was better than people blocking the sidewalks with tents and pooping all over the place. At least with the hotels they have a place to pee, poop, shower, and sleep. Cons especially are quite comfortable living in small rooms. Then we can sort, treat, and protect the mentally ill while putting families in apartments.

I have to say, after reading that I don't really think I'd care to visit your once-fair city.

Now that the three-states split initiative has actually made it onto a ballot, what would actually happen if it passed, and that coastal urban strip designated as "California" (vs. Northern California and Southern California) was left to its own devices?

I think it would rapidly turn into some sort of dystopian hell.

Before long, I think the toxic liberals from the coast would be fleeing into the other Californias like locusts. But they'd want to bring their politics with them, which would mean the poison would just start up all over again.

You'd have to have border controls, to keep LA and San Francisco liberals penned up on the other side like Mexicans.

You would now have six senators, two additional liberals and two additional right wingers from the Central Valley. It wouldn't change the dynamics of the U.S. Senate at all. It would give us more governors to run political adds.

Gosh, Gavin Newsom vs John Cox, a smarmy San Francisco liberal running against a Midwestern carpetbagger. They should hold the debates at Harris Ranch to get the proper ambiance.

(For the the non-Californios, Harris Ranch is a giant feedlot located along Interstate-5 in the southern portion of the San Joaquin Valley. One knows for some time that it is being approached, although most quickly switch to recirculated air until two or three exits after it is passed.)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harris_Ranch

Truly one of California's least well known landmarks to outsiders.

Mental Homeless guy with a stick with a nail in it gets his ass kicked for maiming a dog walker. LA residents complain about violent homeless.

https://video.foxnews.com/v/58025515...#sp=show-clips

That guy in Vegas who was executing the homeless, don't think he was caught. LA wants him to move there.

^ Yet another reason to reopen those old-time mental institutions.
