Tula has made several appearances in Playboy USA, the first transsexual model to do so - though it was only in her second appearance that this was acknowledged. She was interviewed again in another edition, though no original pics appeared in it. The first time was in June 1981 to mark the release of the James Bond film "For Your Eyes Only" in which she appeared as an extra - being one of several girls at a pool party where Bond is captured but escapes when the host is killed. For some reason it was stated that she was born in Rome, while other sources claim that it was in England. Only one pic was published (she being one of several models):

Ten years later, as part of a campaign against the British government in order to get transsexuals the right to change their legal documentation to their sex of choice (birth certificate, passport etc.), she featured in the September 1991 edition of Playboy USA in a pictorial and interview, "The Transformation of Tula":

With transgenders becoming more accepted nowadays - most notably with Caitlyn (aka Bruce) Jenner and Laverne Cox - Playboy re-interviewed her for the July & August 2015 edition, in which she again goes over her past life, but also describes events since 1991, such as her second marriage. It included a couple of more pics from her 1981 shoot:
