As a non-American, the cheerleadering thing is pretty weird. I have no-other cultural association for that outfit except porn. Cheerleaders only came into professional sports in our part of the world in the 90s, and they've never filtered down to high school level. So, for example, when Claire in Heroes goes to school to her cheerleader oufit, in my mind she might as well show up in class dressed as a French maid.

Broxyman, your choices were good. I think everyone here should know that the Japanese schoolgirl outfit was in fact, originally copied from the British schoolgirl outfit. To this day, it is still colloquially referred to as the "sailor suit" because it was modelled after those uniforms.
I voted for the Japanese variant. Japanese girls looks the same at age 18 as they were at age 14, and the same at age 23 as they were at age 19. They're cute enough to get away with the look for a longer span of time.
