Default Update: Lori Petty

By one of those strange moments of synchronicity that occasionally occur, whilst I was messing around with an old XP machine I came across a folder with some Lori Petty (Tank Girl) pics in. As they were either not posted before, or better versions than those I used on her post, I liberated them (and a few new ones) for this thread.

For those of you who don't remember, this lady got "Tanked Up" (sorry ), and hit a skateboarder with her car .... both her and the boy suffered minor injuries but didn't go to hospital. I also found out that she was eventually sentenced to five years of probation after pleading 'no contest' to a 'misdemeanor DUI charge'. Her sentence also included a course of alcohol abuse counseling. She later told the Associated Press that such an incident will never happen again. "I sincerely apologize for driving after drinking alcohol. I assure you, this first misdemeanor DUI will be my last."

New Pictures:

You know, looking at these, its funny how these ladies who seek publicity so avidly (especially when they have stalled careers) .... will hide when they get caught doing something wrong

Default TV Personality: Nicole Camille Richie

Nicole Camille Richie (born Nicole Camille Escovedo) is an American fashion designer, author, actress and television personality ... which means of course that I had never heard of her She was raised by family friend Lionel Richie and his wife Brenda Harvey, effectively as their daughter (they adopted her aged 9), after her birth parents couldn't provide for her. After this inauspicious start (or lucky break if you ask me), she started attending therapy sessions from age three, remaining in therapy throughout childhood (well, that accounts for a lot, therapy for a 3 yr old??). During their later divorce she was pampered ... "Their way of making me happy was to say yes to everything I wanted, but I don't think a little girl should have that much freedom". She first met Paris Hilton while at kindergarten and later was also in art school with Kourtney Kardashian .... they swim in little ponds.

In 2003, Richie and her still then best friend Paris Hilton starred in the reality TV series 'The Simple Life', and 3 series of this show drove Richie to some celeb status (alongside the more infamous Paris) ... the show was axed by Fox after Richie and Hilton stopped being best friends it was picked up by another channel, after they kissed and made up, but viewing figures flopped. Richie went on to feature in several more TV shows 'Kids in America', 'Eve', 'Six Feet Under', 'American Dreams', '8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter', and playing the recurring character Heather Chandler on 'Chuck' ... and as guest judge on 'Project Runway'.

Richie wrote (or had ghosted?) a semi-autobiographical novel, The Truth About Diamonds', which peaked at number #32 in Hardcover Fiction on 'The New York Times' Best-Seller List ... in July 2008, plans were announced to turn 'The Truth About Diamonds', into a television series. Her second novel, entitled 'Priceless', was released in 2010. She has also modelled as the face of Bongo Jeans and in Jimmy Choo advertising campaigns and designed her own jewelry line 'House of Harlow 1960' .... this won awards as well. Oh, and did I mention that this veritable polymath was also a musician? Yes Richie was a member of the rock band "Darling". She made her musical debut in February 2005 with a live appearance on ABC's 'The View' playing the piano, and was even offered the lead role singing in the 2008 hit musical 'Chicago' as Roxie Hart.

Of course hanging out in the circles she does has attracted some headlines, and for instance the fallout with Paris prompted Miss Hilton to state that "It's no big secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends. Nicole knows what she did, and that's all I'm ever going to say about it" .... rumors suggested that the pair fell out due to Nicole showing one of Paris's home made sex tapes to a group of their friends The two eventually reconciled in time for the next TV series.

There were rumours of eating disorder problems thin/fat/thin/bulimic ... Richie stated "I am not anorexic. I am not bulimic. I do not have an eating disorder" .... later on it was announced that Richie was seeking treatment for "an inability to put on weight," though it is not treatment for an eating disorder

She has also had a few run ins with the law: In February 2003, Richie was arrested in California and was charged with possession of heroin while driving with a suspended driver's license ... in 2006 she was arrested during the production of the fifth season of her show 'The Simple Life' ... Richie (and Hilton) faced major charges for DUI, and faced serving jail time. Richie accepted a plea agreement and was sentenced to four days in jail but served only about 82 minutes of the sentence. A spokeswoman for the sheriff's department told People magazine that Richie "was released early due to overcrowding in the jail system. This is standard procedure for nonviolent offenders." After spending 82 minutes in jail, Richie was "Of course pleasantly surprised to be released so quickly," said her attorney (for the record, Paris Hilton was sentenced to 23 days in jail). She had admitted to using marijuana and the narcotic Vicodin before the incident.

Pictures:

She has a thread here, so a few illustratives only. Apologies for any dupes .... any follow ups to her thread.

Default Ballerina: Mathilde Kschessinska

Mathilde Kschessinska (born Matylda Krzesińska) was a Russian ballerina from a family of Polish origin, at a time when poland was either under Russian, or German control i.e. most of the 19th century. She was trained as a ballerina with the Imperial Ballet and made her début in a pas de deux from La Fille Mal Gardée during a graduation performance in 1890 at the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre of St Petersburg. In 1896, she obtained the rank of prima ballerina assoluta of the St. Petersburg Imperial Theatres, despite the opposition of the influential ballet master and choreographer of ballet Marius Petipa, and she obtained it primarily via her prestige at the Imperial Russian Court. To be fair she was considered worthy of the post, but Petipa favoured another dancer, the Italian virtuosa Pierina Legnani.

Although Petipa apparently respected Kschessinskaya as a dancer, he apparently loathed her as a person, referring to her in his diaries as " ... that nasty little pig". But nonetheless she starred in many of his Ballets, despite the fact that he allegedly rewrote them to make them harder for her to perform. She was ruthless in her ambitions, she was not afraid to use her connections with the Tsar to strengthen her position in the Imperial Theatres.

She could be equally ruthless with her many rivals, but she could get this wrong. Two of her most famous miscalculations were firstly, while pregnant in 1902, she coached an unknown 'Anna Pavlova' in the role of 'Nikya' in 'La Bayadčre'. She apparently had considered Pavlova to be technically weak, and not capable of upstaging her. But audiences became enchanted with the 'frail, long-limbed, ethereal-looking' Pavlova, and a bigger star was born. The second was in 1906 when Kschessinskaya coveted the role of 'Lise' in 'La Fille Mal Gardée' but it was given to 'Olga Preobrajenska'. Oddly a feature of this production was the use of live chickens on stage during the performance (Gonzo, and his chicken troop?). Before Preobrajenska's variation in the Pas de ruban of the first act, Kschessinskaya opened the doors to the chickens' coops and, at the first note of the music, the chickens went flying about the stage. Nevertheless, Preobrajenska continued her variation to the end and received a storm of applause, much to Kschessinskaya's chagrin ... the naughty girl

Through her aristocratic connections, she managed to amass much valuable property in the Russian capital and was very wealthy .... but the Russian revolution and civil war saw her leave along with many aristocrats, leaving much of her wealth behind her. She moved first to the French Riviera and then to Paris, where she in 1921 she married, one of the ex tsar's cousins, 'Grand Duke Andrei Vladimirovich' of Russia (who was the possible father of her son Vova). Although her life in Paris was 'modest' compared with the lavish life she had enjoyed in Russia, she was happy there for over fifty years. In 1929, she opened her own ballet school, where she taught such students as Dame Margot Fonteyn (who has her own post here), Dame Alicia Markova, André Eglevsky, Tatiana Riabouchinska and Tamara Toumanova. She performed for the last time at the age of 64, for a charity event with The Royal Ballet at Covent Garden. In later years, she suffered financial difficulties but remained indomitable. She died in Paris, eight months short of her 100th birthday.

As usual, with many of these ladies it was betwixt the sheets that her scandals really took place ... Her graduation performance in 1890 was attended by Emperor Alexander III and the rest of the Imperial family, including the future Tsar Nicholas II. At the post-performance supper, Tsar Alexander sought out the young Kschessinskaya and told her to "Be the glory and adornment of our ballet". And it was amongst the upper class knobs that her scandals, and the rumours surrounding her developed and persisted, as jn 1890 she firstly got romantically involved with the future Nicholas II, when he was a Grand Duke, and she was just seventeen, having first met him in the presence of his family after her graduation performance. The relationship continued for three years, until Nicholas married Princess Alix of Hesse-Darmstadt, the future Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna in 1894, shortly after the death of his father, Tsar Alexander.

Then she formed a ménage ŕ trois with two Grand Dukes of the Romanov family: Sergei Mikhailovich and his cousin Andrei Vladimirovich. In 1902, she gave birth to a son, the later 'Prince' Vladimir Sergeyevich Romanovsky-Krasinsky (known as "Vova"), and who apparently never knew for sure who his father was.

Trivia:
  • She was known to sew valuable jewels into her costumes and came on stage as the Princess Aspicia in The Pharaoh's Daughter wearing diamond encrusted tiaras and chokers, which were worth a kings ransom.
  • It was from the balcony of her elegant house that Vladimir Lenin addressed the revolutionary crowd when he returned from Finland in 1917.
  • In 1960, she published an autobiography entitled Souvenirs de la Kschessinska (published in English as Dancing in St. Petersburg: The Memoirs of Kschessinska).

Default Dancer and Singer: Paula Abdul

Paula Abdul is an American recording artist, dancer, choreographer, actress and television personality. Of a Jewish immigrant background she was an avid dancer, and began taking dance lessons at an early age in ballet, Jazz, and Tap, and in 1978 appeared in a low-budget Independent musical film, Junior High School.

During her freshman year, she was selected for the cheer-leading squad of the LA Lakers NBA basketball team, aka the "Laker Girls". She became head choreographer and six months later, she left the university to focus on her choreography and dancing career .... she became a sought-after choreographer at the height of the music video era. She then had a string of pop music-R&B hits in the late-1980s and early-1990s which included six number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 .... I vaguely remember her from this era.

She then suffered a series of setbacks in her professional and personal life, but was saved by the success of the 'reality TV shows' (aka Talent shows), where those whose careers are stalled, can become 'judges' of those who are still scrabbling at the bottom of the greasy pole. Yes, she became a judge on the television series, 'American Idol', for eight years, before moving on to CBS's 'Live to Dance', and a role on the American version of the X Factor .... so it goes these days.

Love Life:

Abdul was married to Emilio Estevez from 1992-1994 and followed this by another short lived marriage to clothing designer Brad Beckerman in 1996. They divorced in 1998 citing 'irreconcilable differences'. She then tried the 'Cougar' thing, and got herself a toyboy, J.T. Torregiani, 12 years her junior. She told 'Access Hollywood': "He is a good guy. Things are looking upwards. It's looking good right now. I wasn't even looking for someone and that's what usually happens" ... needless to say that ended. She appeared on the Valentine's Day 2006, Dr. Phil show, as part of a prime time special on 'love and relationships' and she was set up on two dates.

In May 2005 reports stated that 'Season 2 American Idol' contestant 'Corey Clark' said that he and Abdul had an affair during that run, and that she had coached him on how to succeed in the competition ... these claims were refuted, and investigation found "insufficient evidence that the communications between Mr. Clark and Ms. Abdul in any way aided his performance".

The Law:

Motoring

In December 2004, she was driving her Mercedes on an L.A.-area freeway when she changed lanes and hit another vehicle but drove on. Both the driver and passenger snapped photographs with phone camera and wrote down the license plate number of the car, which was immediately traced to Abdul. In March 2005, Abdul was fined $900 and given 24 months of informal probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor hit-and-run driving in Los Angeles. In addition to the fines, she was ordered to pay $775 for damages to the other car.

Drug Questions

Also in 2005, drug abuse allegations were made as the result of what some described as her "erratic behavior" on the 'American Idol' show. Abdul said that she had suffered from chronic pain for years following a "cheer-leading accident" at age 17, and was diagnosed with reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) ... but the allegations were repeated in January 2007 when videos circulated on the Internet of Abdul appearing to sway and slur her speech during a set of interviews. This was again explained away, and Abdul told the press that she had never been drunk or used illegal drugs and called the allegations "lies".... however like all multiple denials, they often turn into something else ... In later interviews she stated that a 1992 car accident, and a 1993 plane crash, had left her dependent on pain medication for years. In other words she was using medication drugs.

In May 2009, the 'Ladies' Home Journal' posted an article on its Web site that said Abdul told them she attended the La Costa Resort and Spa the previous year to recover from physical dependence on prescription medications. In the article, Abdul is said to have said that the medications made her "get weird" at times and that she suffered from physical withdrawal symptoms during her recovery .... She then went back to the cycle of allegations and then her denials with Abdul rejecting the article's accuracy. She later told the radio station she never checked into a rehab clinic and never had a drug abuse problem I have no way of knowing where exactly the truth lies ... probably in the middle as usual.

Battery Allegation

In April 2006, Abdul filed a report at a Hollywood police station claiming she had been a victim of battery at a private party at about 1 a.m. April 2. According to a L.A.P.D. spokesman "According to Ms Abdul, the man at the party argued with her, grabbed her by the arm and threw her against a wall. She said she had sustained a concussion and spinal injuries"

Trivia:
  • Her six number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 tie her for fifth among the female solo performers who have reached #1 there.
  • She won a Grammy for "Best Music Video - Short Form" for "Opposites Attract".
  • She twice won the "Prime-time Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography".
Pictures:

She has a thread already, so just a few illustrative pics. I can't avoid dupes, so apologies for that ... any follow ups to her thread please.

Default Dancer and Silent Movie Star: Vera Karalli

Vera Karalli was a notable Russian ballet dancer, choreographer and silent film actress during the early years of the twentieth century. A Muscovite, Karalli graduated from the Moscow Theatre School in 1906 .. she went on to perform with Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes company. She became a soloist at the Bolshoi Theatre and after two years she became a ballerina in 1915.

A girl with many strings to her bow, she embarked on a successful film acting career, and became one of Russia's first celebrated film actresses. Starting with a role in the 1914 drama 'Ty pomnish' li? ('Do You Remember?') until 1919, she appeared in approximately sixteen Russian silent films. The highlight was probably the 1915 adaptation of Tolstoy's 'War and Peace' ('Voyna i mir') .... with her last film appearance was in a German dramatic release entitled 'Die Reiche einer Frau' in 1921.

But she was also a very naughty girl ...... Karalli was the mistress of the Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich of Russia, who is best remembered for being one of the conspirators in the murder of the original 'mad monk' and mystic peasant faith healer Grigori Rasputin. Now being his mistress, she was also in the Palace that night in December 1916 and she was reportedly also a co-conspirator in the murder. Allegedly she was one of two women present in the Palace of Prince Felix Felixovich Yusupov, on the night of Rasputin's murder. The other was Marianne Pistohlkors, the commoner mistress of the Prince. None of the male co-conspirators ever publicly identified Pistohlkors or Vera Karalli as being involved in the events. What the two womens role was in events was will never be known for sure, but given Rasputins alleged appetites, it was likely to have been active.

The Russian Revolution and Civil war, saw the end of her career, and after fleeing to the West in 1920, Karalli participated in a large a charity concert at the Paris Opéra along with other émigrés, to raise funds to aid impoverished fellow Russian refugees. Karalli made her final film appearance in German silent drama 'Die Rache einer Frau' credited as "Vera Caroly" in 1921.

In the 1920's, Vera Karalli taught dance in Lithuania and from 1930 until 1935 she was the ballet mistress of the Romanian Opera in Bucharest. From 1938 until 1941 Karalli lived in Paris, France. Later, she settled in Vienna, Austria and taught ballet there before retiring. Vera Karalli died in Baden, Austria in 1972.

Default Model: Paz de la Huerta

Paz de la Huerta is an American actress and model. She is apparently best known for her role of Lucy Danziger in the HBO television series Boardwalk Empire ... actually that should probably say 'only known', because thats it. She apparently has no other fame claim. Oh, and judging by the pictures posted here and on her thread, she also apparently finds clothing irksome

Anyway this 26-year-old model / actress was arrested after allegedly assaulting 'The City' star Samantha Swetra at a NYC party. Paz De Le Huerta, was supposedly caught flirting with Samantha's male friend. The two woman started arguing and Paz allegedly threw a glass at Samantha and then punched her in the face.

Court Update:

Actress Paz de la Huerta admitted in court that she harassed reality TV figure Samantha Swetra in a confrontation that authorities said was 'laced with ill will about their respective claims to fame'..... zero and zero, can't see what the fuss was about

"I'm extremely glad this is over" said De la Huerta after she pleaded guilty to 'harassment', a violation that is akin to a traffic ticket. Her plea deal calls for a day of community service and 12 weeks of alcohol counseling. Swetra, a fashion buyer is still persuing a lawsuit 'vigorously" as she still has breathing problems because of injuries to her nasal bone during her encounter with de la Huerta, according to her lawyer.

Final word to de la Huerta .... ""I'm a real actress - HBO. She's a publicity-seeker, a fake actress".... can't top that.

Pictures:

She has a thread here with much nudity ... I've tried to ensure no dupes (but apologies to original poster if there are) ... as usual, any follow ups to her thread.

Default Dancer: Lydia Lopokova

Lydia Lopokova (born Lidia Vasilyevna Lopukhova) was a Russian ballerina during the early 20th century. Her father, who was born a genuine 'serf', worked as the chief usher at the Alexandrinsky Theatre, so naturally the young Lydia wanted to be a dancer (as did her siblings). Lydia trained at the Imperial Ballet School, where she became a star pupil and she was chosen to join the Ballets Russes, on their European tour in 1910. Diaghilev knocked a year off her age and promoted her as a child star!

Whilst on the tour she accepted an American offer of ₤16,000 per month and after the summer tour left for the United States, where she remained for six years, enjoying tremendous success and legally changing her name to Lopokova in April 1914 ... apparently she had realised that she was never going to be a to dancer in Russia where the competition was fierce, and she wasn't really tall enough.

In America she was basically promoted as a novelty act on Broadway, and she eventually rejoined Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes, and her former partner Vaslav Nijinsky, in 1916 when they toured the USA, and later again in London. In 1921 she starred in a lavish London production of 'The Sleeping Beauty' staged by Diaghilev, in which she danced as both the Lilac Fairy and Princess Aurora. She then stayed in the UK working in various dance / ballet related activities. In 1933 she danced her last ballet role, as Swanilda in Coppélia, for the new Vic-Wells Ballet.

As well as being involved in English ballet, she appeared on the stage in London and Cambridge from 1928, and was a BBC presenter as well as appearing in a number of acting roles; she read "The Red Shoes" for a BBC broadcast in 1935 and later reprised it for a BBC television broadcast of the ballet. After her husbands death in 1946 she largely disappeared from public view (apart from the aforementioned broadcasts) and lived in Sussex until her death in 1981, aged 88. As usual its her 'private life' that provides the interest for this thread

While she was first in New York, she became 'engaged to be married' to the New York Morning Telegraph sportswriter Heywood Broun. In 1916 their engagement was broken off ... either by her or him depending on which version you believe. According to Fred Lieb, another sportswriter and a friend of Broun's at the time, Broun "caught the enchanting Lydia Lapopka in the lap, so to speak, of her Russian director. ... [Broun] walked east on one street, knocking over every garbage and trash can he passed. Then he walked west on the street giving it the same treatment. Just as he was getting really warmed up to the sport he ran into the hands of the law. Heywood spent the night in the hoosegow [jail] before friends bailed him out the next morning." ... i.e. she was caught 'In flagrante delicto' with another man, cowboy style

Actually, as Diaghilev's interests were very much the same as hers, boys, she wouldn't have been caught "in the lap so to speak" of "her Russian director," but much more likely that of the company's Italian business manager, Randolfo Barrocchi, to whom she was soon married to after this scandal. And again as usual, the shifty business manager was a "'glossy man of the world', who very quickly stole all her money and earnings, but again as usual for many of our girls, he also turned out to be a bigamist Once she had realised the enormity of her mistake, she embarked on a wartime (it was on a European tour), on-off love affair with the composer Stravinsky as his mistress, he was also 'married' at the time.

In 1919 she was in London when her marriage to Barrocchi broke down, and she 'disappeared' for a time (allegedly with a 'white' Russian general), as she had done once before in America. She then reappeared in 1921 when she was in 'The Sleeping Beauty', where she came to the attention of the economist John Maynard Keynes. According to contemporary reports he "sat every night in the stalls, enchanted by Lydia as the Lilac Fairy casting spells over the cradle", and the two soon became lovers, and they were married in 1925 (obviously once her 'divorce' from Barrocchi had been obtained ). What makes this marriage interesting is that Keynes had been swinging the same way as Diaghilev for years, in particular with the 'bisexual' painter Duncan Grant. "Until I see him carrying on with L," Grant wrote to Vanessa Bell, "I must give up trying to imagine what happens - it beggars my fancy" ... Those 'public schoolboy' educated Oxbridge Dons were all into 'bum, buggery and the lash' in those days. They remained married until Keynes death in 1947.

Trivia:
  • All the Lopukhov children became ballet dancers
  • Heywood Broun, later a member of the celebrated Algonquin Round Table coterie.
  • She became a friend of Picasso, who drew her many times.
  • Lopokova is represented as Terpsichore, the muse of dancing, in 'The Awakening of the Muses', a mosaic at the National Gallery, London, laid by Boris Anrep in 1933.
  • She maintained friendships with many members of London's cultural elite of the time, including T. S. Eliot and H.G. Wells.
  • She became Baroness Keynes when her husband was ennobled in 1942

Default Singer: Ashley Dupré

Ashley Dupré aka 'Ashley Alexandra Dupré' or 'Ashley Rae Maika DiPietro' (born Ashley Youmans), was a 'singer' when she shot to fame... but at the beginning she had the usual 'broken home' upbringing that many of the girls shared in common. She had claimed later on her 'Myspace' biography, that she left home at age 17 to escape a broken family home and abuse. This claim was challenged by her aunt, who said that "She never had a bad life when she was growing up. She had the best of everything: bicycles, clothing, O'Neill surf boards. ... She was always dressed to kill and got everything she wanted" ... so you pays your money and take your choice. In 2004, at the age of 19, Dupré moved to New York City in pursuit of a music career, as a singer, and worked as a waitress at a dance clubs to support herself. She apparently developed expensive tastes around this time (including Cartier and Louis Vuitton consumer goods and trips to Saint-Tropez, France), which she explained to friends were paid for by her guilty, but wealthy parents.

Dupré began singing professionally with a musician called Jerry Cooper who was also her boyfriend. "She had this huge voice for such a little girl", Cooper told MTV, "and so I just kind of went in and said 'Hey, come upstairs when you're done with this, and let's work on some songs'". She then claimed to have toured and recorded with Cooper's band, networking where she could, until 2005, when she formed a company named 'Pasche New York', to promote her music career. In the summer of 2006, she made an appearance in a music video for the song "Pop Off", performed by rapper Mysterious.

Speculation is that she may have earned between US$300,000 - US$1.4 million from the download sales of her singles on the web site 'Amie Street', but more conservative estimates said US$13,720. Dupré's music came to be featured in mash up 'YouTube' videos, blending her tracks with those of established artists. Dupré reportedly is now being represented by music manager Jerry Blair, who formerly worked for Mariah Carey, but any deal may have to await for her infamous reputation to lessen ..... OK no more teasing, as you can guess from the hints, she managed to get herself involved in a real humdinger of a scandal

At the age of 19, while she was working as a cocktail waitress at the Hotel Gansevoort in 2004, she also began working as an 'escort' on the side, using the alias 'Victoria'. In 2006, Dupré changed her legal name from 'Youmans' to her stepfather's name of 'DiPietro', but continued as an escort .... by now the escort agency was the 'Emperors Club VIP', and she was working under the alias 'Kristen'. So far, so getting away with it, but on February 13, 2008, she went to meet a trick at the Mayflower Hotel with New York ... it was New York Governor Eliot Spitzer.

Even so, all may have gone smoothly, but the meeting was monitored by Federal Investigators, who had initiated a wiretap after his bank had reported dodgy cash movements (as it turned out to the holding company for 'Emperors Club VIP'). The wiretap caught Dupré talking to the booker about other girls problems with Spitzer, but how she planned to 'handle' him. There were arrests made all round, but initially news reports and court documents did not identify the agency's clients, or the call girls by name. Then 'The New York Times' identified Spitzer as a client, and Dupré as the "Kristen" in the tapes ..... this revelation led Spitzer to announce his resignation as Governor.

Dupré was reportedly offered US $1 million by 'Hustler' magazine to pose nude, and received offers from 'Penthouse magazine' and 'Vivid Entertainment' .... however pictures of her, taken on a public beach aged just 18 (taken in 2003), circulated on the web as 'teasers' for a rather tame movie, which although legal in most countries, were not in some of the US states (18 is legal in the UK and Europe, as well as in Florida with consent) ... this just added to the media interest. In April 2008, Dupré filed suit against the web distribution company, alleging their exploitation of Dupré's name and image, and seeking US $10 million in punitive damages, but in July of that year she decided to drop the law suit after they released footage showing her agreeing to be filmed

In December 2009, she abandoned any further pretenses of victim-hood and became a sex columnist for the New York Post, “Ask Ashley”, and she then posed nude for the May 2010 issue of Playboy magazine. Currently she is believed to be teaming up with 'reality stars' Danielle Staub, Heidi Montag and Jake Pavelka for a reality show called 'Cafe Med'.

Then there were rumours of a sex tape ..... I have no idea if its true ... they look like her, and I have no reason to believe that they aren't

Quote:

"I just don't want to be thought of as a monster," Dupré told the New York Times newspaper at the time. "This has been a very difficult time. It's complicated."

Trivia:
  • Shortly after 'The New York Times' published their profile of Dupré, her single "Move Ya Body" set a record for how fast it commanded the top price on the music-download site AmieStreet.com, reaching the site's maximum of US$0.98 per download in five hours.
  • Another single, "What We Want", was played more than 3 million times on the Internet after the scandal erupted.
  • The 'Village Voice' called her "the most famous hooker in America".
  • Dupré was given legal immunity by the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, for her role in the Spitzer scandal in order to testify at the court hearings related to the 'Emperors Club VIP' prostitution ring.
Pictures:

She has no thread, but there are the odd postings as part of various Pl*yboy threads ... they repeated pictures on all of those posts that I looked at, so no apologies for reposting a few illustrative copies here as well. I post the tape pics with no guarantee that they are genuinely her (just for comparison purposes!).
