Seen as it's close to the end of year, who's your person of the year?
Seen as he's shuffled off this mortal coil, I nominate Nelson Mandela.
Sure, he had his faults, but don't we all?
He came out of prison after being incarcerated for 27, yes 27 years basically on account of the colour of his skin. If that had happened to me, I don't know if I would have been that magnanimous. And stopped a country from descending into a bloodbath. He gets my vote.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of his case he has highlighted the way Governments spy on their own people, not just those who are suspected of planning crimes or helping to track down wanted criminals just the average Joe & Joy Public.

Big Brother is here and any future Government will have ample shit collected to throw at anyone that disagrees with them.

I'd go with Nelson Mandela. He stopped SA becoming a complete bloodbath and his call for forgiveness and moving forward and not wallowing in the past was brilliant.
