It tells the story of the European exiles who came to Britain during the war and also of those who remained behind in Nazi occupied Europe. And their heroic struggle against the Nazis.

'Flying Minnows' - remaining on the WWI air theme, these are the recollections of Vivian Voss, originally writing under pseudonym Roger Vee, as a Canadian pilot (of South African extraction), flying Bristol F.2b Fighters with 48 and 88 Squadrons in 1917-18. Originally published in 1935, a reprint volume appeared with names and locations etc which were originally omitted, in the reprint from 1977. I don't think it is currently in print but s/h copies are easy to find.
It's a very easy read, by a modest and unsensational writer who nevertheless gives a interesting insight into the training and sometimes fatal mishaps whilst would-be pilots were being prepared to come to Europe and then service on OP's (Offensive Patrols) and ground strafing along the front line and the ebb and flow of the war on the ground and the need to relocate at a moment's notice.

Is it any good? I heard the author talking about it on a Sam Harris podcast and it sounded fascinating.
