very likely this has been mentioned but cos of the backup\restore not shown.....

what about the new mega file hoster. not sure how it works with the key/ link encryption thingy so how does this compare to what we got at mo. any good? any info from anyone with tech knowledge? i dunno im just a 'wanker' and would like to know and kind of surprised this hasnt been been mentioned even with the current probs.

so, i'm really unhappy with the current situation. rs is just a joke and most of the newer hosters are not trustable.
in germany there are meanwhile 2 hosters popular, so.biz and ul.to.
i don't want to ask, if one of these could be ok for this forum, but a good alternative would be very nice for me. i don't want to earn money, but i want to keep my files long online.
how is ******** or putlocker?

I'm no expert on any of this stuff and I can only speak as a free downloader but of all the links on VEF I get the fastest download speeds from Mediafire. There's no silly routine to go through to download and I routinely get speeds in excess of 1 mb/sec.

Their one of the few hosts that actually give the free user premium access for free
with only a handful of drawbacks

The downsides to mediafire are

1. when they find your account they will close it thesedays...
1 DMCA notice coupled with high bandwidth usage will see it gone
coupled with low bandwidth usage at best they'll just delete all your content

2. their limit of 200mb per link means multiple part films/clips etc are only available 10 downloads a week...this came down from 15 per day and before that unlimited

3. thieving bastards on other forums who take entire posts using hosts like mediafire that offer decent access so as to bring in more traffic and increase ad revenue for their forum.This behaviour isnt just down to the scummy forums which only have one rule on their books - steal from other sites - its on some pretty well known ones as well.

4. captchas only being asked for every now and then

5. their banned by paypal

6. Unlimited storage was replaced with limits - 50Gb of files storage
