What the f*ck is wrong with the educational system in America? I was out on the way to work Friday morning. Just like EVERY morning. And what do I see every morning? School buses. Buses picking up kids with kids already in them. Why the hell do school kids have to be awake at five o'clock to get ready for school? When do they eat breakfast? How much sleep do they actually get? And I'm frequently late getting home from work...and what do I see every day? At freakin' six o'clock PM??? BUSES !!! Dropping kids off from school. So let's figure this up...that's 12 hours of school and travel time. Before breakfast. After supper. Do these kids ever get to eat? And another thing. Why the hell are there five different school systems on the same neighborhood block?? If anyone has a solution, you should run for President. Apparently they'll elect anybody.

That girl botching the job with the primo can opener made me go, WTF? At first I thought it was a class of retards, but apparently not.

What would happen if you gave her a P-38 can opener and a big can of Dinty Moore beef stew?

Or what if you gave her a live chicken and some whole carrots and potatoes and told her to make dinner?

Seems like so many modern urban young people are just lost.

I don't like Sadiq Khan either. I voted for Zach Goldsmith and I have not changed my mind. I have strong reasons of my own to consider Sadiq Khan to be an extremely bad mayor; policies he has brought in which have affected me. Like many another Social Justice Warrior, his actual deeds make life worse for ordinary people, and he doesn't actually care about ordinary people.

Neither do I support a second referendum. I don't support ever again having a referendum in the UK on any question whatsoever. Events have proven that referendums are the wrong way to do business. But if you do once put a major strategic question to the whole people in a vote, you have no legitimate choice except to abide by what the vote says - and the vote has spoken. End of.

However, I do think Mr Khan has a right and a duty to speak. He is Mayor of London and the outcome of the Brexit process will affect London a great deal. It is his job to respond to that. His proposal for a second referendum is puerile and exactly what I would expect from such a Fitzrovia fake socialist; just such another as Chukka Umunna, who might yet end up as a future London mayor and successor to Mr Khan. But Mr Khan's analysis of the present position is quite reasonable.

However Mr Khan said the PM had "failed to negotiate a Brexit position with her own party - let alone agree a deal with the EU".

Making reference to Boris Johnson's resignation as foreign secretary over the government's Brexit strategy - dubbed the Chequers plan - the London mayor said the debate had become more about Mr Johnson's aspirations to become prime minister "than what's good for the country".

I think this is true.

The people in charge of this process have mishandled it wilfully - it feels to me as though they actively want to make a mess of it and all along have been looking to others to blame for their own inability to produce and stand behind a Brexit plan. The Chequers Plan is not really a plan - no one thinks it will be accepted by the EU; and to produce it so late, nearly 2 years after the Leave vote, speaks volumes.

I think we should simply negotiate for a free trade deal on goods and services. As far as possible we should look for a frictionless border in Ireland, but we need to be realistic about how far this will be possible and about the time it will take to implement and refine measures to improve the free flow of goods and services inside the island of Ireland when the Republic is inside the EU and the North is not. If that is not acceptable to the EU then fine, no deal. To be quite honest, the Chequers Plan is heinous and I would much rather leave with no deal than make a deal around the Chequers Plan. But I also think we should keep talking, even after we leave with no deal, and work towards an intelligent relationship with the EU as a third party. The EU will take us extremely seriously when we have already left, have proven we are determined to stay out, and we are still one of their most important trading partners, and they as well as we are looking at the problems of having no agreement.

I think the fault lies in ourselves as the older generation. Do we teach our children how to cook? More than once I have been served in supermarkets by teenagers who do not recognise the vegetable they are supposed to enter as a sale in the till - they don't know what a leek is. I gather that "home economics" (i.e. cookery and kitchen skills) are no longer taught in schools, haven't been for decades. The parents do not teach the children at home because everything is a ready meal or straight from a tin. How can they be expected to learn? And should we criticise them for not learning the things we are too lazy to teach them?
