Well, thats sad to hear. She sent the letter from BoA to her attorney so we're waiting to hear.

Uh, if her bankruptcy case is still active BoA would have sent the letter TO HER ATTORNEY. They legally cannot contact her directly as long as she has an attorney and an active bankruptcy case.

We were of the understanding the bank couldn't unilaterally change the terms of any payments. That would be up to the judge. But, given everything else we've seen during the course of these events, nothing would surprise any of us.

Changing the amount she pays to the Trustee under the plan would be something the judge would have to approve. Changing the amount of the monthly mortgage payment under the terms of the loan is something different and is probably in the boiler plate she glazed over trying to read.

And I'm not positive, but I don't think she has an ARM. I do know the original mortgage wasn't an ARM but once the banks started gambling with her mortgage note who knows what happened after that. We also know the note is a forgery (attorney proved that) and nobody knows who now holds it.

I can't comment on the Note but the bank cannot unilaterally change the loan from a fixed rate to a variable rate. She would have had to have signed a Loan Modification Agreement.

I do remember that. And thanks again. Those were some really, really troubling times. Wouldn't wish that on anyone (except for any person who works for these a@@holes).

Not really sure that is all that much worse. The whole process is a nightmare but it has calmed down a slight bit over the last couple of years. Except that BoA seems to want to screw with her every year around this time. Not sure why.

End of year review of accounts probably.

I don't remember the MFR but I'm sure there was plenty of evidence no fraud was involved. Don't remember the number exactly anymore but, even after her insurance paid they're portion of the bills, I think she was still in hock for around $40k to $60k with more bills coming. And she'd been off work for close to a year by that time (in fact, as I remember, she had her initial heart problem at work, she passed out at her desk and went to the hospital via ambulance).

So fraud wasn't a problem (but, knowing them, they probably thought about it anyway).

Wasn't meaning to imply fraud on her part. And if they didn't foreclose on her house they either didn't file an MFR or were denied if they did. From what I've seen BoA doesn't file a high percentage of MFRs.

Something else I remembered after posting yesterday. You mentioned that BoA seemed to lose everything she sent them over and over again. A few years ago there were some former employees of BoA coming forward claiming that kind of thing was a deliberate tactic by BoA. Illegal if they were doing that but I don't remember if anything came of the accusations. I do know that she's not the only person complaining about that kind of thing with BoA by a long long long shot.

This article says the pay drop is a myth, but there were earlier articles that stated that women and their agents knew their popularity dropped once they did black - less demand, less total pay seems the reasonable outcome. I recall in the past women seemed to do blacks only at the end of their careers - like Jacqueline Lorains - who actually changed her name to Monique Perry when she started to do interracial.

Should any Brits on this site be concerned about fresh moves by the UK government to introduce restricted access to porn sites? Naturally its all to do with one of Cameron's pledges to protect children from disgusting Internet filth.

Surely, the simple answer is to make parents and guardians legally responsible for preventing children from accessing unsuitable material. Children don't have ISP accounts and adults do. It could be no more complex than laws in many US States that make adults responsible for keeping guns out of kids hands.

Apparently, UK adults will soon have to prove they are over 18 to view porn sites, even those overseas. The idea is that you will give your passport or driving licence number to the porn site owner. Then they will have to check it with a UK government agency. Can't say I've heard of anything quite so stupid recently, but I will never be taking part in this, which would actually raise futher issues. It will put you on a government register of adults interested in online sex. Stand by for a dawn raid by Policeman Plod if anything bad ever happens in your neigbourhood.

Could apple just give the fbi the info that's in the phone without giving the fbi a backdoor to the phone? Apple Sort of 'opening the door' to the phone without telling the fbi how they did it?

I'm pretty sure most of us on this forum looked at porn as children. I make no secret of the fact that I did. A person who as a teen vandalised posh restaurants safe in the knowledge that Daddy would pay for it and had sex with dead pigs is in no position to tell other people how to bring up their children.
