It is appropriate to note the passing this week of Hugh Hefner at 93. Aside from founding Playboy magazine, his Playboy Foundation was key to bringing about what was called the "sexual revolution" in the United States.
He was also famous for paying models and writers premium sums. |

I was 15 and saw her pin-up on a cabin wall. Awesome and her recent pics in the last ten years showed how radiant she still was.

Thanks for the note as to the COD of Centerfolds/Playmates. Odd thing about Fran Gerard, noted COD "unknown", well if being killed in an auto accident is unknown, tell me how to define it. Read "somewhere", initial COD was an auto accident, body was removed from car, coroner changed COD that to "unknown". Can't find out much more than that.

Hefner, Cosby, and suicide
Speaking of COD, Paige Young (PMOM Nov 1968) died in July 1974 at age 30. Her death was universally reported to be due to a drug overdose. However, it turns out that she committed suicide by shooting herself in the head—soon after telling a friend she was going to do it. This link might explain why PB spread the overdose story.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...shot-head.html I'm puzzled as to why this article is from 2014, but websites chronicling PM deaths still show the cause as drug overdose. Last edited by azurespring; February 18th, 2018 at 11:03 PM.. Reason: added info |

Snopes.com has confirmed by an Associated Press article that Stephane Adams, Miss November, 1992, has died after leaping from the 25th story of a NYC hotel with her 7-year-old son in her arms on May 18, 2018. The article says, in part:
A former Playboy centerfold involved in a custody battle apparently jumped with her 7-year-old son to their deaths from the 25th floor of a Manhattan hotel, law enforcement officials said Friday…The pair checked into the penthouse suite of the Gotham Hotel at about 6 p.m. Thursday, police said at a brief news conference…They fell 23 floors, and were found on a second-floor balcony at about 8:15 a.m. Friday in the rear courtyard of the hotel…Law enforcement officials identified the woman as Stephanie Adams and her son as Vincent...The officials said she was involved in a custody dispute over Vincent with her estranged husband, a Manhattan chiropractor named Charles Nicolai, and that police had been called to their home several times in the past few months. Nicolai and her estranged husband had been in “a very tough custody case,” said Raoul Felder, a divorce lawyer who represented her for a time. The standoff was contentious enough that the former couple handed off their son to each other at a police precinct, an arrangement that’s unusual but not unheard of, Felder said. Adams was Playboy’s “Miss November” centerfold in 1992. The New York Post profiled Adams in 2013, saying that she had by then written more than 25 self-help books, ran an online beauty products company and managed the finances in her husband’s office. She appeared again in Playboy in 2003, and she had also worked with Elite Model Management and had two business degrees, according to the Post profile. |
