I was probably five or six. My dad was taking me to little league football practice in his work van. It was summer, hot and no AC in the van and it was The Doors on AM radio. Riders On The Storm. Why I remember it so vividly is beyond explanation but really dig the memories it brings back!

"I'm Sorry" by Brenda Lee

I was 9 in 1960 and I still remember myself listening again and again to this 45 RPM record, on the family's DUAL turntable. Still like it today...

Hate to show how old I am, but Billy Don't Be A Hero was Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods and Paper Lace did The Night C hicago Died.

Billy Don't be a Hero was definitely sung by Paper Lace, it was on Top of The Pops long enough

Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods also sang it but although many say their version was better I grew up with Paper Lace so have a soft spot for them. As I also have for Pilot, Mud, Showaddywaddy, The Rubettes and lots of 70's bands

My mum was never a big music fan. But she did like Acker Bilk. So I heard her Acker Bilk records a lot.

Bernard Stanley Bilk from Somerset England.

My apologies, I stand corrected. Here in the U.S. you couldn't escape the Bo D. version. AM stations would play it 10 or 12 times a day. Now I wanna seek out the Paper Lace version and check that out. Thanks for the info.
