Yes England Can win, but probably wont, if you look at it realistically, we are probably about the sixth best team in the world. So if we get to the semi-finals we will have done well, however the English press will do what they always do and bull us up to be the best team and then if we dont win they will make the players out to be donkeys.

I hate football with a passion. Having being forced to play the f*****g game on a weekly basis at school, I swore I'd never participate in, or watch a game again. The day England won the World Cup - and listening to reports from those in the know, it's doubtful they ever will again, I went fishing on the Avon in Wiltshire. Never saw a living soul all day. Never got a bite either, come to think of it. But my point is, football might be a game for the masses, but it's not for me. The newspapers are inundated with it. Even the W.A.G.S get columns of press. I mean who the f**k are they? They zoom around in their Chelsea Tractors all day, contributing nothing but oodles of cash to Claridges and Harrods and designer outlets!!! Bet they've never been in an Aldi or Lidl in their lives. Even the refs these days seem to command some kind of celebrity status.

Heart of Midlothian

He was then appointed manager of Heart of Midlothian on 30 June 2005. A stunning start to his tenure as Hearts manager saw them top the Scottish Premier League after the first ten games, winning eight of these, including a 4–0 victory over rivals Hibernian – proving themselves to be genuine title challengers. However, he left the club the day after major shareholder Vladimir Romanov, with whom Burley had a notoriously uneasy relationship, announced a bid to take private control of Hearts.[2] A club statement declared his departure was by mutual consent.

Mutual consent my ass....a scottish friend informed me the owner was trying to use the side to keep his countries national team players match fit...admin/private owners meddling in team selection....When has that ever worked....NEVER

I must be Canada's only QPR fan. I like alot of teams, none of the usual though. Been to WBA, Charlton, Orient, Chelsea in '96 (v. QPR), Kilmarnock for a SFA Cup away game to see Hearts (Great match). Took the missus to QPR to see them play Palace, biggest hoot of our lives. QPR 4, Palace 2. Great atmosphere. She was scared senseless going in, buzzing coming out. Great fun. Too bad we don't have that kind of feel at any of our North American events. I always get a charge walking up to the stadium, sometimes I even get it watching it on TV.

Thanks for the great thread.

Just curious, does QPR still have artificial turf?

Bejesus. IngramJohn.
I thought we were one of the few teams who did not have a Womens team. I just assumed that was because the men played like women.

However I bow to your greater knowledge.

As for a pub team. A certain teams Manager, who has now been sacked, quoted Hearts as being "the best pub team in the land". After we had beaten them of course.

No, that came out years ago. I think even before the premiership.
