I have no idea what the name of the movie was.
But, it was a life changer.
When I was young I got a lot of Adult mags.
But none showed penetration.
In fact my friend said "I don't think they ever show it going in"
So 1978, My friend Dave says "You have to see this"
We went to a theater and OH MY GOD
It was John Holmes
I was floored. They showed everything

My first experience with a porn movie was in 1978 when I saw two films in an adult theater in a suburb of Chicago. The films were: "Pro Ball Cheerleaders" starring the lovely Lisa De Leeuw, and "Honeymoon Haven". Altogether over a period of a few months I saw a total of about ten adult movies.

Strange story: at college, there was one of these typical college-town used record stores with a tiny video tape sales & rental section in the back. On a random counter, there were three file folders, one marked "all female", one marked "all male", and one marked "male/female", and no other markings. So I picked up the folder marked "all female", and inside were the box covers from well-known lesbian tapes of the era (late 80's/early 90's). I hadn't heard of any of the stars, or knew for sure what they were, frankly. I thought they were those ubiquitous 90's pay-per-view nudity-only specials. So I grabbed one cover marked "Where the Boys Aren't" & one cover marked "Where the Boys Aren't 2" (lucky random selection, don't you think?). I took them to the counter, and handed them to an employee (he grabbed them without saying anything). He goes in the back, grabs two plain, unmarked VHS tapes, takes $8 from me, asks for my student ID, writes down some info, puts the tapes in a bag, and says they're due back in two days.

Although the tapes included the likes of Barbara Dare, Jamie Summers, Deidre Holland, and a very early appearance of Tori Welles, the sex was pretty vanilla, and not much more explicit than a Penthouse all-girl pictorial of the time, just with better views and lots of moaning, so my mind wasn't blown. But, the rental scenario certainly proved the cliché of "hidden in plain sight".
