if you have Win7 it's strongly recommended to install latest versions of K-Lite codecs packages after removing old codecs packages

- if you have Win7 64 bit please install package "64-bit", too

- de-install all media players you additional installed to default MS MediaPlayer (don't remove!)
- clean-up your HDD (e.g. by CCleaner & Glary Utilities to remove temp files & other trash,
_ clean registry file; optional defrag & re-boot)
- install K-Lite codecs including Media Player Classic by above source
- install additional media players you need (e.g. KMPlayer for making s/caps & snap shots at video files)

note: codecs installed by K-Lite are used by MS MediaPlayer as well as other media players, too
