I found her while browsing pictures of girls from the 80s on many websites ; and I realized she was my Amiga 1200 wallpaper screen back in time (1994), putting a name only today on a pretty face I was watching daily. A very very cutie girl...

It was thoughtful of Member "Berigan," when he began this thread in 2009, to add the title notation "(Not the singer or Penthouse Pet)." You see, when I collected photos for a post on the Angela Everhart thread, the idea was to highlight Angela's screen debut from Last Action Hero, the 1993 Schwarzenegger blockbuster. There was another actress in the video store scene, a blonde, and I thought I'd collect shots of her, as well.

The blonde turned out to be the star of this thread (and there is some commentary in the post as to the parallels between her and Angela, one being how Last Action Hero served as consequential for both). Thing is, I had no idea who Bobbie Brown was.

Since this thread has bypassed the basic information, better late than never; Bobbie Brown was born in 1969 in Louisiana, USA. IMDb filmography. Beyond those basics, some time after winning the Miss Louisiana Teen USA 1987 title (which led to her competing in the Miss Teen USA pageant), Bobbie won the spokesmodel competition on Star Search a record thirteen times. Also of interest: she was unfortunately a cocaine and meth addict for a decade.

So when I started looking for Bobbie's VEF thread, the one I got into was this one (with lots of naked photos), until I realized the featured personality was the "Penthouse Pet." (Thanks to the title notation, I understood I was in the wrong place.)

The Pet's name went on to be spelled without the "E," as "Bobbi Brown," and maybe this was a result of a lawsuit that Bobbie Brown brought against Penthouse in 1989 for featuring a model under the same name. (What if the model was actually born as Bobbie, with the "E"? Is that fair? I see from her thread that after Penthouse, she was featured in other magazines under entirely different names.)

I don't mean to keep exposing my unholy ignorance, but I didn't know who the "singer" was, either. The best candidate is the one who was the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown (dad also a singer), and her first name is also spelled without the "E." The poor thing died at an infernally young age (22), much as her mom at a relatively young age (48), both having been found submerged in bathtubs.

Before I get to those photos of our lady being celebrated here from the Hollywood film, Berigan presented as Bobbie's big claim to fame the fact that she was the "hot blonde in the Warrant Video Cherry Pie!" After I investigated and listened, I realized I had heard this song, but didn't know anything about "Warrant," nor "Cherry Pie." (So what exactly do I know? VEF keeps making me realize I know nothin'.) Berigan also asked that if anyone has access to the video, "please put it up for the youngsters!"



That is what I set out to do, besides putting up Bobbie's pics from Last Action Hero. I had to do so for the youngsters. (Thanks, Berigan, for putting me in the age category that I no longer belong in.) The video, which was wonderfully produced, is available on YouTube, and was made use of for the frame grabs seen here.


Man between the couple from "American Gothic" in the last photo is Warrant's lead singer, whom Bobbie was married to for two years.

Bobbie, of course, was selected to portray the "title character" of this song, Miss Cherry Pie, that is, the embodiment of an irresistible woman. (Or as an article linked below nicely put it, "With her windblown peroxide mane, seductive scarlet lips, and flirtatious curves, she epitomized every man’s fantasy.") Please pay attention to some of the lyrics:

I'm sold. This is a great song, beyond its catchy tune, because it is celebrating the magical quality of women that all lady-loving men are reflexively aware of... and can become imprisoned by.

As I was putting the finishing touches on this post, I ran into this fine article (featuring superior images from the video) on the video's director who speaks about the pop art quality he strove for, how Bobbie was not his first choice, and other interesting revelations. (Including a "metaphor moment when a triangular slice of pie lands squarely on Brown’s lap," which was brilliant. I didn't catch on when I watched, maybe because we are now accustomed to not think about a woman's pubic hair. ) When aired on MTV, evidently the video received much flak. A Canadian cable channel even banned it on the grounds that it was “offensively sexist,” and the director came across as being defensive. ("I am the least sexist/misogynistic person." Ahh, the world we are living in.)





One easily senses they all had a marvelous time shooting this video (you know, I had gone through the thread earlier, and only now, after looking again, am noticing Member "Grossnex" had heeded Berigan's "Cherry Pie" "request" in 2017. In other words, no new ground is being covered here, as I had thought. Oh, well!), and Bobbie certainly exhibited great spirit while flaunting her womanly parts. I've got to say, when I first saw pictures of the lead singer (his name was Jani Lane, whom Bobbie married in 1991, and Member "Rochellka" put up a whole post in 2016 accenting the wedding)...

Bobbie had a history of dating rockers. He would later ditch her for Pamela Anderson.





This pattern of her choices for lovers paved the way for her appearance in fourteen 2013 episodes of the Canadian reality-TV series, Ex-Wives of Rock. Bobbie also wrote a tell-some, if not tell-all, book entitled, Dirty Rocker Boys: Love and Lust on The Sunset Strip, revealing the dirt on other lovers as well. For the gossip lovers among us, this 2013 article relates Leonardo DiCaprio's package made her gasp, but since the actor was nineteen, he was too inexperienced, and the fling was kept short. Kevin Costner was another of her dates, evidently without action.





What about nudity? Certainly in the few films Bobbie has appeared in, her physique was put on display, as when she played a dancer in Kounterfeit, a direct-to-video 1996 affair regarding bad cops involved in a counterfeit scheme, with a pre-stardom Hillary Swank playing the sister of a killed cop who tries to find the murderer. She infiltrates a strip club as a dancer in her quest, and engages in gyrations that appear to have been not very erotic. Guess they hired Bobbie to remind viewers of how it was supposed to be done. (Later noticed Grossnex had put up views from this film in 2017's Post #30, and his images are of superior quality.)




Bobbie was also in 1998's The Godson, a gangster comedy with Rodney Dangerfield as "The Rodfather" and Dom DeLuise as "The Oddfather," playing a wise guy's girl. She's presumed to have been engaging in bedtime activity, but her clothes stay on. Grossnex also covered this ground in 2017, as may be seen on top of this page (in his Post #31).




Member "Lalachristine" put up rare nudity of Bobbie in 2010, in Post #12. The two images that follow below with "tease" nudity are from Member "Redcobra," among other 2016 views he placed in Post #24. (I later noticed the same photos, oddly, were put up by him in Post #22, a month earlier.)

As for the images of Ms. Brown from Last Action Hero, the scene begins with her catching the eye of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

While collecting (for another actress, and another VEF post) screen caps of "The Life You Save," a 1998 episode of Mike Hammer, Private Eye starring Stacy Keach (this was the second incarnation of the 1984-87 series, as well as a couple of TV movies from around that time, which lasted two seasons from 1997–1998, while deemphasizing cleavage and other pertinent female fleshpottiness in a probable attempt to be less offensive for the increasingly intolerant), a blonde appeared onscreen. I thought she was a performer who was uncredited (after checking the IMDb cast list for the episode), but after realizing the blonde had a solid part, a second look confirmed she was, in fact, Bobbie Brown.



Yes, the same Bobbie Brown for whom I had composed the detailed post you see above, which should have made me a Bobbie Brown expert, but when her face came up (although I had an odd feeling that she looked familiar), I didn't recognize her. (How embarrassing.)



What I was getting at with this post's headline was that I had concluded from her short list of screen credits Bobbie never had an opportunity to truly act — but she was really acting in this episode. Ms. Brown was actually given the leading female role. (How do you like that.)



When I prepared my prior post, what kept hitting my eye in her filmography were insubstantial roles as with "Erotic Dancer" from Betrayal of the Dove (1993) and (as mentioned above) "Dancer" from Kounterfeit (1996) (along similar "pretty girl" lines as other examples from the prior post, her role of "Video Babe" from 1993's Last Action Hero and "Sunny's Babe" from 1998's The Godson; I see she was also in two feature films, Vanilla Ice's star vehicle from 1991, and as the nameless girlfriend of one of the "Barbarian Brothers," in 1992's Double Trouble).



Now it became evident, from her Mike Hammer part, that she was able to hold her own quite adequately as an actress. Casting directors failed to take notice, given how greener pastures were subsequently denied her. Perhaps Bobbie was sadly unable to shake the flaky "Cherry Pie" image which put her on the map.
