Damn!

After tonight's episode, I want to be a Kaylon.

They are cooler than the Borg!

Disappointing at first but funnier and slicker on the second viewing.

You see that little bit of comic genius second time around.

And well done the supporting cast who resemble Susanna Reid /Alex Jones lookey likey.

Thumbs up

Just finish watching all 10 Episodes of Season 2 of the Icelandic series

Ófærð aka Trapped

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3561180/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4IVJdW78uU

What an intelligent. riveting, thrilling, white-knuckle suspenseful show with so many twists and turns you will never see coming:

how many secrets can a small town have and how were they able to keep them all a secret for 20 years???

WOW!!

Season 3 is already in the works.

Why can't American TV make shows like this???

10/10

Grace And Frankie

Netlix brings us a good one. Just discovered this...it just finished its fifth season. A stellar cast of legendary acting geriatrics--and a decent crop of Y Generationals--fuel this funny, risque and albeit laughingly liberal lark co-written by chronicled auteur Marta Kauffman (Friends, Dream On, et al). Grace Hanson (Jane Fonda) and Frankie Bergstein (Lily Tomlin) are opposite ends of the elderly human spectrum...Grace the conservative, uptight type, and Frankie the activist hippie artist. So they avoid each other...until their respective law partner husbands Robert (Martin Sheen) and Sol (Sam Waterston) reveal that they've secretly been lovers for the last 20 years...and they want a divorce from their wives so they can get married. Enter their children...the Hanson daughters Brianna (June Diane Raphael) and Mallory (Brooklyn Decker) and the Bergstein adopted sons Nwabudike (Baron Vaughn) and Coyote (Ethan Embry)...to stir things up for the worse. The new husband lovers take over the house, and their ex-wives are compelled to move into their shared beach property...together. How will they avoid killing each other...or their often meddling kids? The answers are often as heart-warming as they are hilarious. Yeah...it's a bit liberal. Yeah, it's a bit gay at times. Yeah, it's a chick empowering vehicle. But it's written and acted so damn well it's unmissable...despite your age. Tomlin and Waterston steal the show, but it's so well-done all around that everybody else collectively could probably carry it without them. Side actors and special cameos abound. This is a great ride worth taking. But watch out you don't strain your back laughing. A-

I like this show. But I don't know where it's going. I like the increase in space drama and CGI battles between ships. But I was under the impression that the show was SM's comical nod to STTNG...a show that he has been a fan of since it started. The comic aspects seem this season to have taken a back seat to the action and drama...but it's the comedy asides and downright silliness that distinguishes this from ST-D or the others.

I agree.

It was supposed to be a spoof of all things Star Trek and it has gotten too serious.

Bortus and his husband, the doctor dating Isaac, and so on.

There was only one joke if I remember correctly in the last episode and that's the navigator talking about the pee corner in the shuttlebay and the whole joke just felt out of place considering the serious mood and theme of the episode.

S02E04 of The Orville. IMHO, even when it's being silly, The Orville has way more depth than Discovery.

Watched The Birdcage starring Robin Williams and Nathan Lane on TV last night. A remake of Le Cage Aux Folles, The Birdcage was a fun movie. Nathan Lane chewed up scenery as the overly gay partner of Robin Williams. The gay vibe of this movie was so campy, so outrageous, that I'm not sure it could have been made in these politically correct times. A fun film to watch curled up on your sofa!

Watching last night's new episode.

They sure consume a lot of alcohol on the Orville.

I don't remember hardly ever seen any Federation crew members drink in any of the Star Trek series and movies.

Only sparingly during special occasions and ceremonies and high profile meetings like in Star Trek the Undiscovered Country when the TOS crew met with the Klingon delegation.

The first two episodes of The Name Of The Rose. A German Italian adaptation it does real justice to the richness and complexity of Umberto Eco's novel.
