I think that if I described what I like about vintage porn it wouldn't really describe why I like it. The present crop of athletic looking porn studs is often 'roid assisted, but at the least weight trained, so the muscles can be misleading. The females are generally way too skinny, silicone tits notwithstanding, and much of this is due to a thinner bone structure on average, the others are too fat. Your point about pornos being much better written, and well thought out in the early 80's on back is right on. Contrary to popular belief today, the stars were actually better paid back then, because the competition was far less stiff (pun not intended). The average actor was of course facially not as good looking, because they didn't do all the plastic and makeover stuff, but the stars were actually better looking naturally than todays stars with all the assistance. I mean does anyone seriously think a Jenna Jameson, or a Kaitlyn Ashley, or a Janine Lindemuller, (and they look better than the present stick figures with tits parading around) compares to Annette Haven or Constance Money? Sure they're cute, but beautiful? Sorrry!
Even the typical 80's stars like Lynn or Lords or Darrian are no comparison.

I don't see them making a huge hit like the Woman Who Loves Men with Teresa Orlowski nowadays. I've seen a genetic and psychological downward spiral as well as a cultural and economic one take place in the last 25 or so years. The question is, can anything really reverse this besides a total meltdown of the world's economies. Will we have to experience rebirth like during the Dark Ages? I'm not ragging on bisexuality here, I'm simply pointing out that it was not a central issue in movies before the 80's, which is one reason the movies back then were more appealing to the masses. You won't see any porn today doing as well as Deep Throat or the Devil in Miss Jones partially precisely because the standards today are self defeating. Movies then represented life albeit in a skewed through the eyes of mostly hetero male bigwigs in the industry, whereas now they're a total hodgepodge of perverts (still mostly males') fantasies. In fact event the female porn producers like Jill Kelly or Christy Canyon are mostly pumping out male oriented material 'cause they know the dark secret of the porn industry:
