Hotmovies video quality

Did anyone here buy a movie for download from Hotmovies? Could someone confirm what is the quality/format of those? I don't mind paying 15-20$ for some oldies I want, but only if I get an actual copy of the DVD-R (namely Vob files or MPEG2), not some upscales or poor wmv encodes. No info about the formats on the site itself.

P.S.

Does anybody know some other places where I could buy an actual DVDs and download them instead of the getting them through post?

The quality is variable and mostly depends on the posted date.
Recent posted movies's quality is great, due to the High bit rate decoding setting. But most of the old stuffs is just watchable, 1000 kbps bit rate is the only choice :| What a pity. And no DVD option. So hunting for a DVD is the only choice AFAIK
