A lot of those Amazon deliverers are massively overworked, they are running around frantically trying to deliver scads of packages in a limited amount of time, and they get punished if they don't meet their quotas.

So they don't really give a shit about the security of their drops. Once they have tossed the package on your step, they are done, so far as they are concerned.

Amazon supposedly offers "pickup points", the one time I tried to search for one near me on their website, it came up empty. Funny, since there is a UPS store not all that far from where I live. Maybe it's only for Amazon warehouses. I wouldn't mind picking up stuff at the UPS store but it is not offered as an option, as far as I can tell.

Amazon has lockers too that you can go and pick up your package after they leave it in those lockers and only you have the code to unlock it.

Everytime I tried to pick the lockers as a delivery option for my city while still placing the order, it tells me there are none.

But if I search for Amazon lockers near me, there are all over the place and many of them are now in Whole Foods stores that Amazon bought over a year ago and there are several Whole Foods near me with 2 of them within 3 miles of my home.

There also Amazon lockers closer to me than the ones in Whole Foods stores: they are located in lobby of different banks locations and also in several gyms and 7-11 convenience stores.

Yet it doesn't give me the option of have my packages being left off in their lockers.

Well, I get nothing for either pick-up stations or lockers. Guess I am out of luck.

In my area, you have to pay extra for signed delivery receipt. Otherwise, they just leave it on your porch. My UPS driver moves my garbage can to cover line of sight from the sidewalk. He is the nicest of the various people who drop off packages at my house.

Amazon must require their delivery drivers to have dyslexia or be total idiots. 5 of my last 12 Amazon orders have been delivered to the wrong house!

I suppose it could be.

In today's climate, a robber could probably sue you on grounds that you damaged his car and caused him psychological harm with a glitter explosion and fart spray - and win.

So your only option would be to make sure the robber does not live to sue you. Use a bomb that sprays a cyanide aerosol instead. Make sure the package has totally fictitious address labels, and be sure to leave no fingerprints or DNA on it.
