Yeah Cowell helped launch some boy band group over in England which spawned a solo spinoff career for Robbie Williams who created the song Millennium which has to be one of the worst songs of all time.

I hear where your coming from but you've got to consider how hard it is today to even be noticed

Electronic gaming has all but killed live acts outside of the self or record company sponsored promote the latest CD tour

If you look at how the capitalism runs its was only a matter of time before something brought the public talent into the mix simply because it reduces their costs and increases their margins.

Word of mouth of live performances leading to contracts is a bygone era
unless you start with money and can seriously show your appeal is more than just local.
Which is where the internet really can kick in.


Lets not forget that the pop music has been manufacturing bands going right back to the Monkees

If the public likes the songs the rest is immaterial

Its all manufactured and always has been

The only difference is the human race seems to be getting more vain

Since MTV music seems to have become all about looks than musical substance
Maybe the truth is we're just really shallow NOW

I have to disagree, sorry. There is such a thing as real talent...and there are still people who can appreciate and recognize it...

Just as I can see the value of Greig, and Tsaikovsky, and Chopin...I can also see the value of Tori Amos, or the Rolling Stones, or even Lady Gaga...

Of course shows like that are crap...and I wouldn't let Simon Cowell judge my dog's turds...but that's not to say there couldn't still be some real new talent out there.

Sure, music has been manufactured by producers, and big money...but I think anyone with half a brain can see the difference...we all know that most of the crap we're presented with on tv is just overproduced shit.

But there's still real artists out there, that need to be listened to, and recognised...real good music is still being made!

I can think of 1 truly talented individual that went on American idol

A stunning operatic voice that simply didnt suit their purpose even if she was young and drop dead gorgeous...cant recall her name though


As for the truly talented could you tell some of the geriatrics that the parties over...lol

I have caught glimpses of all the shows from both sides of the Atlantic and it seems that the only person worthy of a repeat performance is the bloke who sweeps the stage when all the deluded twats have fucked off
