Been catching up on an early 90's fave, The Last Boy Scout (1991) with Bruce Willis & Damon Wayans in some Shane Black-written, Tony Scott-directed, Joel Silver-produced mayhem...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102266/combined A wise-crackin' buddy movie of the highest order, where all the bad guys are total scumbags, and all get exactly what they deserve! Sample quote..."This is the '90s. You can't just walk up and slap a guy, you have to say something cool first." Forgotten what a top film this is! And only 6.9 on IMDb? I've given it an 8!

"Sinister"
A strange movie. High quality acting talent in Ethan Hawke, albeit with a mismatched wife in Juliet Rylance. The movie does a lot of things very well-- the opening sequence is absolutely terrific, super creepy. This one suffers from the "let me explain it to you" problem . . . the producers Blumhouse have been repeating their Paranormal Activity formula, and they would have been wise to deviate from it. Someone needs to explain to them that what's scary is what you can't explain . . . At its best, Sinister is an American J-horror film, at its worst its just silly. |

Lone Survivor (2013)
USA - Action / Biography / Drama "Marcus Luttrell and his team set out on a mission to capture or kill notorious Taliban leader Ahmad Shah, in late June 2005. Marcus and his team are left to fight for their lives in one of the most valiant efforts of modern warfare" Said to be based on a true story. Maybe it is true, because some of these guys really are sent on absurd missions. I got this movie because of its high rating, and hope it's good. Just starting... IMDB gives it 7,9 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1091191/ (There's a trailer in the link) |

A Dangerous Method (2011)
watched this last night...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1571222/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 Considering the subject mater, the relationship between Freud and Jung and their development of psychoanalysis, which i've read quite a bit about, and the fact that I really like all the actors involved in this movie .....this was one of the dullest films I've seen for a long time Ikea Knightley gives one of the strangest performances I've ever seen, and the dialogue between Freud and Jung went from the bland to the ridiculous. IMDB gives it a 6.5.......I'd give it less but I don't know what....... Hard to recommend..........

I saw Rush (2013) last week. Not bad at all, especially if you like motor racing. Chris Hemsworth (Thor in a few recent movies) plays James Hunt and he looks and acts quite a lot like him. I wasn't so convinced by the Niki Lauder character, but he was okay. Very good special effects and some good race sequences. Some nice looking ladies and a bit of modest sex here and there!
I think the general theme of rivalry betwenn the two drivers was a little overplayed, but this movie is well worth a watch. 8/10 |

No, but getting a darn good spanking whilst watching the movie would have made it a lot more interesting
