Rapidshare
How do I get it to accept links?
The instructions on the RS site aren't very explicit. Martynz |

Are you trying to upload files to RS?
If so, you should download their RapidUploader program which you can find under the Rapid Tools drop down menu.

When you click on a RS link that will take you to the download page of that file, scroll a bit down and press on the 'Free' button this will take you to a page with a counter (scroll down a bit), after that counter has counted down to zero a image with 4 letters/numbers will appear, type these in the small textfield (not case sensitive) and press the "Download via ..." button and the download window will appear, choose save to disk and select the folder where you want to save it to. Notes: - As a free user you will have to wait before you can download the next part and after a 100MB download you will have to wait 90 minutes to 2 hours so it will take some time to download a bigger movie as a free user. - You will need javascript enabled otherwise you won't see the counter and will not be able to download. When the movie is split in parts you will need to download all parts to the same folder on your disk before you can extract it with WinRar (part01.rar, part02.rar, ...) or join them with HJSplit (.001, .002, ...) don't forget to look if a file has a password. Small tip: When the last file is smaller don't download it as last file, the time you will have to wait before you can download the next part is much shorter after a 20MB download than after one of 100MB. Important as free RS user is to check if all parts are still there by using the RS Link Checker: http://rapidshare.com/en/checkfiles.html You can find the link on the RS pages under Rapid Tools > Link Checker, just copy/paste the download links in the textfield like: http://rapidshare.com/files/12345678/filename.part01.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/12345678/filename.part02.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/12345678/filename.part03.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/12345678/filename.part04.rar etc............ and press the Check URLs button to see if the links are still there. When parts of a movie posted with the split .rar files like part01.rar, part02.rar, etc... are missing don't download it because you won't be able to extract the movie later.... The link checker doesn't work with links like this: rapidshare.com/files/12345678/filename.part01.rar rapidshare.com/files/12345678/filename.part02.rar .... you will have to add the http:// part in front of it first before you can check them. Upload: Download and use Rapid Uploader: Rapid Tools > Link Checker > Rapid Uploader create a free collector's account, add that name and password for that account to Rapid Uploader drag and drop the files you want to upload on Rapid Uploader and let the files be uploaded while you go sleeping or do something else. To access your free collector's page: Free Zone > Collector's Zone Login this page displays all the links of the files you uploaded and from here you bcan copy paste them to your posts Notes: - Rapid Uploader needs no install just double click on it to start the program. - 100MB takes +/- 35/40 minutes to upload at a 50kB uploadspeed. Tools: HJSplit: http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/ (Windows, Mac OS, etc.) Good free Windows tool to unrar: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...3&postcount=35 Good free Mac OS tool to unrar: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...8&postcount=57 Succes, Dub. |

On the R/S page go to the Premium Zone menu on the top and select Premium Zone Login from the drop down menu. Once you've logged in and you then click on a R/S link, when the download page comes up, select premium account instead of free and begin your downloading.
Also once you've logged in, if you wish you click on the options button and select the "Direct Download" option, which will allow you to by-pass the download page and pop up the download right away.

Thanks guys but I know all that.
Have I misunderstood what RS Manager does? I thought it will enable multiple downloads rather than having to go through the standard practice for each individual link. Martynz |

Martynz, go to "Options", select direct downloads and choose "Random" or your preferred mirror and save. Using my d/l manager I can download 8 files at a time from RS. I haven't bothered with the "Manager" as I use RapudUplo@der to post multiple files.

I have a few questions. I have a premium account,if i choose to direct download, will this interfere with flashgot or Orbit or any other manager that I have? Is there a way to download a sequence of RS links, like the links of a movie, without individually clicking on each link then waiting for the page, etc.? In your experience, are there preferable mirrors or are they hit-or-miss. (Aekara, i am sorry if i already may have asked you this on another forum where there is someone with the same handle) Thank you all.

euler seems to be asking the same basic question as me. It certainly looks like the illustration on the RSManager page that you should be able to load all the links in one go, perhaps by some sort of cut and paste but it always gives me a message like "Cannot find any RS urls".
