I was signed in, upping a 2nd file , connection speed - it took a half hr to up a 640 mb file, adblockers on. I dumped cookies with cccleaner & superantispyware. Was able to get on after that.

1 year with paypal is 60 €. I dont think that is an improvement.

That is because of the ridiculous Paypal fees:

"Payment by Paypal (+100% fees - minimum amount 1,5 €)".

I will wait till they have 1 year premium on offer again for €10 and pay by banktransfer, that worked great for me in the past, even if I'd use Paypal + 100% fees it will be a bargain at €20.

I think cold storage are files which are not downloaded by other users. Many users use 1fichier only for backups.

No clue when there will be a new promo, in previous years it usually was because of national holidays like quatorze julliet (14 july) and assumption of mary (15 august). I vaguely remember they had one in februari too last year or so.

But no way of knowing IF or WHEN there will be a promotion, iirc they dropped prices considerably since last year so there might not be any offer at all as they're obviously struggling to stay in business. We'll have to wait and see.

Yes, thanks for the tip. No amount of tinkering with FF or IE will let me
download as a free user at the moment.

Opera "out of the box" worked with no problems, so I guess I'll have to keep
it installed for the time being, just for 1fichier.
