What do you think of Tablets? - Page 3

I seriously injured my back months back, still can't sit long at a pc. Got a tablet (which I thought I never would), works great for surfing VEF while reclining on my side pain free! I even just bought an 18 inch tablet...may never go back to pc.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. I mostly keep it by my bed to look up stuff on the internet at night when the PC is switched off, but I can stream stuff to it if I want. It can also be used as a media controller but I don't use it for that.

It's not a replacement for a PC, but it's good for lightweight tasks and worth getting one, just not worth spending a fortune on.

I'm 26 and I don't use touch phones-tablets. I had one touch phone before 5 years ago, and I didn't like it. Mobile with classic keys and Laptop is quite okay enough for me.

I was gifted an Amazon Kindle by a client several years ago. I wasn't exactly hankering for tablet but I've used this thing literally everyday. It's replace my laptop which I now only use it when I'm creating music or doing business stuff at home. Oh yeah....and porn. The tablet is great for surfing, email, watching movies and shows, listening to music, do basic research, peruse Facebook, playing games, etc. Instead of bringing my laptop on trips, the tablet is nice and portable. Fits in a back pack or my girl's handbag. Basically a mini laptop with limited storage and function or an oversized cell phone (I use Skype and Viber on it), take your pick. Bought one for my girlfriend. Same sentiment. She considered one but didn't really think it was important enough to put on a wishlist. Once she got it, she's been hooked ever since. She doesn't leave home without it.

Worse thing I ever did buying a Samsung Tablet for my wife. Now I get constant updates on what all the adorable puppies and kittens in the world are doing...although to be honest, it does have one upside. She does watch her chick flicks on it rather than the TV.

A tablet might be OK for surfing VEF but for the back breaking, soul destroying grind of Modding,You do need a PC or Laptop.

i'd resisted until a couple of weeks ago when amazon knocked £20 off the fire8 and i decided that if i was going to get as little use out of it as i expected then £60 was more than enough to pay. But i've been more than pleasantly surprised by how useful it is though it won't ever replace the laptop as the go to option. This said my mobile phone dates back to 2005 and I won't be replacing it until it literally falls apart.
