There's nothing new about that. Heck, they even used a sanitized version in The Flintstones. Fred and Barney are taking dance lessons and the instructor askes Fred for his line on asking a woman to dance.

Fred: Hey baby, how 'bout shaking a leg with Hot-Stuff Freddie?
Instructor: Mr. Flintstone! I'm surprised you didn't get your face slapped!
Fred: I did. Got a lot of dances though!

Personally i think that majority of porn is not very good, too many people are into it only because of money and you can easily see the outcome, porn its not like ''normal sex'' its about making MOVIES so little bit of effort is appreciated. So i have alot of respect for people that make great movies like Christoph Clark, Kelly Trump, Rita Cardinale, Angelica Bella, Cassandra Wild, Elodie Cherie, Catherine Count, Maria Bellucci, Dina Pearl,Laura Angel, Eva Black and many more.

Porn is just business

Respect or disrepect of those who make it or perform in it
doesnt even enter the equation

There are some truly disgusting people in the industry on all levels that have done some unpalatable things but then i could say that about many industries.

You either like the product they offer or you dont.

Any product will have a minority of addicts who dont know when enough is enough
but banning it wont stop their behaviour

Think of the fools who drink so much coca cola their teeth are literally rotting away
Sometimes the state cant protect the indvidual from their own bad habits and shouldnt try.

Where the state should step in is stopping the adult industry from pushing the envelope and hidng behind consent given which they use to push the boundaries of good taste or usually far worse.

We all know anyone who is desperate for money will do what ever and hence consent being given is like saying i'm all yours to torture. Its that kind of consentual abuse thats the worst type of porn because it sends out the wrong messages to impressionable minds plus its abundantly clear many of the models arent into what their doing so comes off as utter bilge.

Given the male brain doesnt fully mature until age 25 thats a lot of time to build up some pretty bad habits gleamed from watching such content.

For those addicted who feel their on a downward spiral getting Medical help is your only avenue for redress

Banning everything outright never leads to a lowering of demand for the product
but drives it under ground at best

We've seen that with alcohol (prohibition),drugs (class A drugs)
prostitution (kerbside crawling)

Addicts dont lose the impulse because its no longer easily accessible
which means black marketeers will always be there to take up the slack

About the only logical argument i've heard is for porn to be banned from use on mobile phones because its reaching kids who are ridiculously young.

For those addicted...
Hookers are called hookers because their job is to hook guys. Sure to make a living and maybe knowing a hooker personally and understanding her life story, how hard she had it etc, might make an individual understand why she is doing what she is doing.

Pornographer's job is to hook you. Why do women in porn wear different colored shoes. Why this camera angle or that angle; why those lines, why that setting? These are all calculations made by pornographers to hook people.

Porn companies employ many psychologists for a purpose. Scripts are written and scenes set not just to turn people on but to mess with your unconscious and hook you. Pornographers want your money and they want it to keep you coming back.

Do I respect people that are manipulating me playing to my weeknesses in ways that I might not be aware of?

Am I breaking rules of the forum by calling a black car a black car? Maybe the problem here is simply the word respect; I don't know? But pornographers are hookers trying to hook everyone that watches. And there is definite intent and calculation in that goal?

Does someone who is no longer a drug addict respect his ex pusher? I don't know? I don't think it is disrespecting someone to point out that the black car they are driving is in fact black?

That's a good analogy you make of how hookers get you addicted and keep you coming back for more, keeping you "hooked".

However, just a historical tidbit from my years of American Civil War reading. The term hooker didn't come from any reference of keeping clients and johns hooked. They actually got their nickname from Union General Joseph Hooker, commander of the Army of the Potomac in 1863. He became so notorious for having multitudes of prostitutes in and around his headquarters, that his soldiers nicknamed them "Hooker's Girls", which then got shortened to "Hookers". The name stuck obviously.

I've been thinking more about the OP's question, and I just keep arriving back at the same place.

I think I can admit that yes, I am addicted to pornography to a degree. Not to the point where it prevents me totally from functioning in the real world, but I admit that there were times I chose it over socially engaging with women and people in general. Those were times that truly scared me, and compelled me to go out and start up real connections again. So I'm at least aware of the demons that haunt me and try to fight back against them.

But I don't blame that on the pornographer. Sex by it's very nature is an extremely pleasurable sensation, and can easily become addictive, especially the rush of orgasm. The problem with porn, in my case, is that I enjoy edging so much.

Psychiatrists and psychologists have compared edging to porn to a drug addict taking continuous hits of Heroine or lines of cocaine. And there is MUCH truth in that. When you edge to porn, you are literally keeping yourself at a high level of arousal for hours. Your brain is being kept in a state of constant dopamine hits, one after the other. That constant dopamine rush is exactly what the euphoria of a drug high is like.

Having said that, I cannot blame the pornographer for the way our brain chemistry works.

Burger King and other fast food chains knows how addictive their food can be, because the salt, sugar, and meat juices in their food LITERALLY taps into our biological past as cavemen. We CRAVE those flavors because our biological history has those flavors built into its circuitry from the animals we hunted. A Whopper with fries and a large coke is literally like a shot of prehistoric dopamine, we're satisfying the same urge. And the people who market their products know that as well. Salt and sugar are highly addictive, and so is sexual pleasure, and so is orgasm.

I would sum it up this way. Corporations have figured out how to tap into our deepest cravings and desires, be it sugar, salt, nicotine, or orgasm. They have figured out how to keep us coming back for more, and more, and more.

But like anything else, it's up to us to decide how much control we want to have over our own bodies.

What's the old saying about alcoholism? "One drink is too many, and ten thousand is never enough."

That sentence sums up my addiction to pornography pretty bluntly.

I'm curious as to who you are all thinking the mysterious, lugubrious "pornographers" are?

Especially at a porn forum where we all visit, view & share

I'm reminded of the old addage we had while working in the building industry,

You are your own Safety Officer
