I,ve just read the biography of Seka, & in it she describes the absolute insistence of The Swedish Erotica management of the wearing of a scarf.
She also describes the state of the said scarves, many were just lying around on set & were " Cummy " (sic) dirty or were make up smeared etc. She states that the management were that cheap they wouldn't supply new ones, she also states that she would always wash the one that she was given, & that at least hers was always clean.

For me it always seemed strange and a bit of a bad taste to wear these neck scarves. I do not remember exactly which, but there is an episode of Swedish erotica in which Desiree Cousteau was bathing without a scarf. After bathing, she dried herself with a towel, put the scarf around her neck and went to bed to have sex with her partner who was watching her ... There is also one in which she is bathing in a jacuzzi .. with the damn scarf .. .
Long socks and garter belts are erotic accessories in a way and it is even justifiable for a woman to wear them or use them to please her partner, but scarves ??? I do not think this should be said about sex and preferences but ... that's weird ...

I think its the equivalent of the modern day version of a collar. Where women today wear collar with rings or with words on them, back then, it was a scarf. JMO.
