Modern models are disappearing

Thanks aphex1973 for your explanations - it has (at least) widened my personal insight on how things are being dealt with actually

There are 3 things I´d like to add:

1. When I was talking of merging/unmerging, I was explicetely thinking of Modern Models towards Lesser Known Models and vice versa. Perhaps my using of the term "General" (= General Modern Topics) was unprecise and hence misleading, sorry

2. Merging posts is a very debatable thing. I totally agree with beutelwolf and his argumentation to keep posts single. However, it´s really beyond me as why to leave very small single posts when members (postcount-maniacs) do post morsels from the same picture-set within a short time-span (some minutes/hours) and spread them across 2 or more posts. This is very annoying.

3. If a poster benevolently creates a new Model-Thread because he failed to see/locate posts from that particular Model in a Lesser Known Model-Thread, he might certainly not be amused when later mergings from there do shuffle him down to a Non-Thread-Starter position. Just a thought.

To answer that question from a Celeb viewpoint when a member creates a new thread and I spot other posts for that same actress/model in any of the many lesser known threads I move those other posts into the new thread.

Also bear in mind several modern model threads have been moved to the Celeb section too as many members have created threads in the MM section for lingerie and swimsuit models which are not really relevant to that section.

This is just the description of exactly the same procedure I was referring to reg. Modern Models and Lesser Known Models.

The result will be the same, though: If the posts from the "Lesser Known" threads are older than the 1st. of the single Model-Thread, the original thread-starter (who most probably has invested some time in preparing) will skip down within "his/her" thread and the elder post(s) earn the "Thread-Starter"-Status. Exceptionally nice on more in case the new thread-starter is a perhaps a blocked member.

O.K., this may go to deep but the sentiments of original thread-starters should not be underrated IMHO. And yes, I know, there are possibilities to re-shuffle/re-date posts in order to reset

Not sure why you think it is a completely different issue/topic when I was actually pointing out an issue that is absolutely relevant to the original question that was asked at the start of this thread, namely why there are less threads in MM.

If a member starts a thread in MM and the model in question already has a post in LKMM which is easily found through a basic search, I have little sympathy regarding their position as thread starter. It takes 5 seconds to do a search.

Now, before everyone just thinks I'm a total prick, if posts exist in LKMM but are under unknown/little known pseudonyms we can do a work around to make certain that the thread starter remains the thread starter. Same goes for sets in LKMM which are not named/titled but are later attributed to a model with an MM thread. I'm not here to screw anyone over. Credit where credit is due, I figure.

As Wendigo mentioned, many threads and LKMM posts have been moved to Modern Celebrities which has attributed to the apparent loss of threads/post in MM. There have also been many threads which have been merged because they were dupes. Again, the afore mentioned issue with models having numerous aliases.

I would also mention that I have personally created many new threads in MM by moving multiple posts for a model from LKMM to MM. Don't worry, none of them give me credit as the thread starter.

Stuff like this where you lurk in the shadows and doing thinks in the darkness (do you know The VEF Ninja? ) is what makes you guys a credit to the forum so we (I) appreciate that lots!

Even if I'd have found a few sets on model xy in LKMM beforehand, but have twice as much to contribute, I'd consider creating a new thread and crosslink those posted before. As to who would become the thread starter if they would get merged someday I couldn't care less.

Just my two cents on this. I have not encountered any problems with missing models / threads lately
